Inn at Haystack Rock

Everything! Staff were super friendly, Location is perfect! Almost right on the beach and just a short stroll into town. The room we had was quaint and cosy, with a fab TV offering all the latest streaming services. It was such a lovely experience from start to finish and would love to visit again some day.

I don’t often leave negative reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough that I feel it’s important to document. I booked this stay through Booking.com and prepaid in full. Shortly before arrival, the hotel emailed asking if I wanted to check in early. When I did, I noticed an additional charge had been processed on my credit card. I immediately went to the front desk and was told it was “just a hold,” despite the charge showing as processed rather than pending. After checking out and seeing the charge still posted, I called the hotel to explain that I had been charged twice. The staff member I spoke with was unhelpful and dismissed the issue without investigating, telling me to contact Booking.com instead. After spending hours navigating Booking.com support and providing proof of both charges, Booking confirmed that I was correct — the hotel had in fact charged me again despite my prepaid reservation. Booking.com attempted for several days to contact the hotel to reverse the charge and was unable to get a response. In the end, Booking.com had to absorb the cost and issue me a refund themselves. The stay itself was lovely, but the lack of accountability and customer service around a clear billing error was extremely disappointing. Seeing other reviews mentioning similar double-charging issues makes this even more concerning. I can’t recommend staying here unless this billing process is addressed.

We loved our stay!!! Great location for beaches and restaurants. Room had everything we needed. We will definitely return.

The room was comfortable, well-appointed, and spotless, just what I was looking for. But the real advantage is the location: a short walk to town and even closer to the beach. I have visited Cannon Beach many times, but this is the first time I stayed overnight. It is now one of my favorite places. I was lucky too to see the elk on the beach at sunset and the glow of the northern lights at midnight.

Parking limited. Only 3 designated parking spots for the 5 rooms in location 1. Luckily I went off season and snagged a spot, but others were not so lucky and parked outside of designated spots. Also, the front desk tried to slyly charge me for my stay to make up for some of their lost costs with Booking.com AFTER they confirmed they would not be charging me anything more and I was paid in full through booking.com. I reported them to Booking.com and also sent an email to them. I was able to get a refund, but others have not been so lucky. Check your bank/cc statement after you leave!

Goede locatie en schattige accommodatie met een soort mini cottages. Zelf had ik een verblijf zonder ontbijt dus dit niet te beoordelen of en hoe dit was.

De communicatie was onduidelijk en ook wel wat onrustig, ontving in de week ervoor bijna 12 e-mails over check-in tijden (ook nadat ik de online check in had gedaan omdat ik mogelijk iets na de sluitingstijd van de receptie zou aankomen), dus de communicatie kon beter.

Nice little place. Decent value for the price paid in offseason. They sent me an email to extend my stay for 1/2 price up to 3 additional days, but I received it after the fact. If you're going to extend that offer...tell me at check in.
