Appalachian Hotel

Upon arrival the hotel lobby smelled like wet dog and trash. When we got to the room we tried to call down to the front desk only to find out that there’s no phone service in the building. Came back upstairs to watch tv until we go to sleep the volume on the tv goes in and out that we had to turn to the next channel to hear the sounds. The next morning we went to breakfast at 8:30 and was informed that nothing will be refilled due to breakfast being over at 9.

Best advise to someone who goes ftom motel to hotel if it smells like mold in the rolm either i nedd s new one or i gotta leave i left didnt care about thd noney soent an extra 97 bucks to go to another hotel please the staff is great but there not mold experts, you need somebody to come in there and actually take care and clean that for you. Make sure it's done right clean out. The air conditioning systems, the heating ducks. And change all those sheets. Clean the carpeting and clean the bathrooms really well and maybe clean the sinks and pull out the stoppers and clean them and the bathtubs because the smell is coming from them and once in a while, turn on the air conditioner and leave it at a specific temperature. Same thing when it's cold out, leave the heat. Read on at a specific temperature. Because living in Florida, you have to leave it at a certain temperature. You get a mold smell. Especially when I live away 6 months out of the year you have to leave the temperature on a specific temperature or so, you get a mold spell from the heat outside to the moisture to THE condensation. Also, the air conditioners when they sit forever over winter and you don't clean them out on the regular they have. A burning smell if you don't clean out. The filters themselves that have piles of dust in it that I looked it makes a smell and i it wont-work properly. These are things that can be fixed and upgraded and done. And this property would b sick raise rayes to off set cost.

Big event & management allowed Handicap parking to be taken by car show attendees. None had Handicap plates/placards. They did allow me to park close to an exit door but not a legit parking spot. Worried if some damage happened to my vehicle it would have been an issue. Bathroom ceiling molding with water damage. Slight mold when in bed-

This hotels offers smoking rooms. When I booked my room, I was given a choice of rooms. It did say smoking , but very small lettering at the end. If you are looking for a non smoking room - check carefully. They would not refund my booking.

The property is okay with very reasonable price for a short stop over. We arrived at midnight and departed nine hours later. They provided breakfast but we did not have time to do that as we were so tired.

We stay at this hotel every year to attend an event under the Quality Inn name. This time the name was changed to Appalachian Hotel so I'm not sure if this is why the service was not as good as before. 1st: I had reserved the room 11 monthes in advance. Check in time is 3 pm, we arrived at 630 pm and were told the room was not finished being cleaned. Even tho we only waited a short time I would think all reserved rooms would be cleaned before 3 pm. 2nd: you leave a tag on the door handle and mark what housekeeping services you want. I marked to just leave clean towels. When we returned that evening the tag was removed but all our dirty towels were still there and no clean ones were left. Lastly the toilet would barely flush one piece of toilet paper. Needless to say my reservations for next year are with a different hotel.

I had a great 2 night stay. Very friendly staff, quiet and clean room and at a reasonable price. . Can’t ask for much more. Convenient to the Carlisle fairgrounds.

Property convenient, room was clean and spacious. Staff overwhelmed with check ins, several had problems with check in. Commode would not fill up after flushing, filled bowl with shower faucet and bucket. Room was quiet.
