Hotel Sabbie d'Oro

Well where shall I start! We stayed here as part of a trip booked via Jetline. We were supposed to stay at a four star hotel in the same area with a pool. Unfortunately we were delivered to the Sabbie d Oro which we very quickly renamed the Scabbie Horror! The location was very good and in walking distance to everywhere. That unfortunately was the only plus! If you are expecting a four star you will be very disappointed. We arrived and were told the bar was not available. You had to pay to go on the beach and for sun loungers etc. No pool. No areas to sit and chill and the rooms were so basic and drab and the beds were like blocks of wood, no movement in them whatsoever! Our room had a partial seaview but when we opened the patio doors the room quickly began to smell very strongly of chip fat so we had to keep them closed for the rest of the duration. Breakfast was served until 10.00am. Very poor quality food and anything hot was cold. The hot plates just didnt seem to work at all. So cold scambled egg. Cold sausages. Cold potatoes with onions. If you happened to be sitting there after 10.00am the waitress would turn off the lights and ask you to leave! Never experienced anything like it in my life! You were not allowed to get water from the machine outside the opening times of the breakfast room. We felt so unwelcome. The only saving grace was the lovely afternoon/evening receptionist Frederica who was a little ray of sunshine in the worst hotel I have ever stayed. On one cold, wet miserable day we had nowhere to go as not allowed to sit in the large breakfast room looking out to sea. Only place you were allowed to sit was a dark, dingy living room with a tv where the older clients would sit and chat. It was raining most of the day so we bought some Italian cheese and Wine and thought we might sit on the balcony. We popped to reception to ask for some ice and the owner of the hotel was there and told us we could not have anything and that the ice machines were broken. We knew otherwise as the restaurant next door had been loading ice into the fish displays and there were 3 ice machines in the corridor. We popped to the restaurant and luckily the lovely man there gave us a big bag of ice. We were also given only one toilet roll for our room so we asked for another but the cleaner said NO and ran off down the corridor. We did laugh about all these issues but really would suggest you think twice about staying here as it certainly is not in anyway up to the standard of four star accommodation and there are so many nice places to stay nearby. Choose wisely! Frederica you were the best. THANK YOU!

Spacious double room with view of the bay and Taormina. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast buffet with lots of choices, including scrambled eggs and meat. Market and many restaurants nearby. Hop on/Hop off bus stop nearby.

Can’t think of a thing!

The hotel was quaint. The rooms were small, and AC was non-existent. The housekeeping service was disastrous. They never left towels for us every day ! We needed to pay city tax at check out and their CC "machine not working" Absolutely ridiculous. Not a great experience. Some staff were nice. We will not be going back there again.

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel, and it was the perfect location to spend a few days in Naxos. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Hotel inspiegabilmente 4 stelle ma 2 stelle sarebbe forse adeguato. Stanza buia a qualunque ora del giorno. Materassi su letto matrimoniale che si separano se ci si appoggia nel mezzo. Colazione appena sufficiente. Personale disponibile a tratti. Non lo consiglierei.

Very clean. Tasty breakfast intensified by a beautiful scenery of the mountains ascending from the seashore with pleasant musical background. Helpful staff and greetings to signora Alice

The breakfasts were very nice! Especially I like bruschetta and vegetables 💚

Too noisy due to the central location. Condition system and water supply in bathroom needs to be renovated.
