Hampton Inn Moss Point

We come to Gulfport this same time every year. I booked through Hotels.com and we stay at Hampton Inn as we have previously. We booked the same room type and have never had a problem until this visit. The room we booked is not the room we got and the air-conditioned was not working properly. We were actually sweating. The hotel receptionist stated that there was nothing she could do since we booked through a third party (hotels.com) and that Hampton Inn/Hilton was not affiliated with this third-party whatsoever. She stated Hotels.com most likely "screen shot" pictures of their rooms and offered it to their customers. I am very disappointed. As a customer of Hotels.com and a Hilton Honors member. I should be able to receive the same quality and service whether I book through Hilton or Hotels.com.

The hall smelled of smoke. The toilet was not clean. The sink water stopper was broken and peice was sitting on sink. Everything that consisted of wood was dusty. Including the Headboard, and the chair that was at the table. On my way down, on the elevator, there was a housekeeping associate. Who was getting off on the floor that I was staying on, I asked if she would leave more towels, after I gave her my room number, she agreed to do so. Well guess what! No towels was left in the room! This Hotel use too be one of the cleanest and Best CustomerService around. Now it feels Robotic! The Table and chairs in waiting/Breakfast area are stained and in need of some deep cleaning! I would always recommend the Hampton Inn too my Family and friends who were traveling. As a matter of fact, several of my Family came in this weekend from different locations. When I asked them how was their room? Each of them had a compliant. Hampton Inn, Get It Together! Or I will be in search of a Better Hotel!

My wife was injured because the closent had a broken handle.

THE SMELL OF MILDEW HIT US AS SOON AS THE ELEVATOR OPENED BUT IT WAS WORSE IN THE ROOM SO WE CHECKED OUT ASAP DUE TO MY DAUGHTER'S HEALTH. JUST THE FEW MINUTES WE WERE THERE CAUSED SEVERAL EPISODES AND SEIZURES.

When we booked this room, which we did online, ahead of time, on the Hampton Inn site, there were still lots of rooms to choose from and we got to have our pick of room-type. This detail is important for reasons that'll become apparent in a bit ... After checking in, we realized that—and this is going to sound unbelievable but we lived it—are you ready? (Because I still am not.) THE BATHROOM HAD NO DOOR. I thought for sure I just couldn't find it ... some hotels under the Hilton brand favor those sliding doors ... but no. There really just was NO DOOR. We made it work, though we are not one of those families who ::bathroom stuff:: in front of one another. We had to coordinate, it went kinda like, 'Hey, stay over here / don't come around the corner / I have to __ ' every time one of us needed the facilities. Yes, it's as ridiculous as it sounds. Yes, we notified the front desk, of course. The response? "Yea, I know. YOU LUCKY YOU GOT A ROOM / WE FULL-UP!!! You lucky you even got a room at all!!" was angrily shouted at us, with a lot of attitude. (We looked at each other like, 'Is this really happening right now?!' and moved on, both a little unsure whether it was real. We had, of course, assumed they hadn't realized that room was missing its door, until this moment. So we were alerting them, not so much as a complaint, but because we genuinely thought they should know.) Again, there were plenty of rooms avail when we'd made the res just hours before. I'm not sure why the attitude, as if we were doing something wrong by having the audacity to rent a room ...? I don't know. We needed a place to sleep and made it work ... I still alternate between struggling to believe this ACTUAL EXPERIENCE and laughing about it. Generally speaking, the room was very run-down, could've used a refurb. No biggie on that end, just not gorgeous or anything. (And yes, we're HH members, 'diamond' level at the time of this stay, for anyone wondering.) Anyway, we obviously survived. Probably if asked though, I'd say: stay here at your own risk, I guess. And maybe don't even expect basic, first-world-country living standards, like a bathroom door.
