I used to love staying here; it's affordable, and you can see the ocean from some of the rooms. However, after my last stay, I'll never be back. I was traveling alone, as a woman, and the Latino male at the front counter was pretty off-putting, just had a weird, unfriendly, creepy energy. Just felt like something was off, which was disappointing, as I've stayed here many times, and usually the women at the check in desk are super nice. I stayed for three nights, and on the day of check out, I kid you not, the same guy that checked me in (who was clearly doing double duty as a housekeeper), just straight up opens my door! Doesn't knock, I clearly haven't checked out, and it was like, 9am. Thankfully, I always put the deadbolt lock on when I'm at hotels like this, but it was extremely unsettling. Especially considering this didn't feel like some little "mistake", it was literally the same dude that checked me in, and it's a small motel, they know who has checked out and who hasn't. I was laying in bed when this happened, and just heard the door abruptly try to open. He didn't even say "sorry" or "excuse me" or anything, (including not knocking), and my television was on, so I know he heard that someone was in the room. I felt targeted as a female. Will NEVER be back. What if I had been getting dressed, or had been in the bathroom with the door open, which is right near the front door? Absolute creep. If you are a female alone, consider staying literally anywhere else.

I was driving from San Francisco to LA and this is about half way. a beautiful location and a sweet town. A good value if you are just hoping to have a easy place to sleep. Nice view of the ocean from my room.

Limited places to eat, at least this time of year.
