Kohea Kai Hotel Maui

Very clean, super comfortable bed. Fridge/freezer, microwave, and large coffee pot make it easy to plan smaller meals in-room. Bathrooms have recently been renovated. Staff members were lovely: super welcoming, helpful and friendly.

Highly recommend! I stayed here for a week and had an amazing time. Tivita went above and beyond for me during my stay here and showed me the true aloha way. He made my first night go smoothly, and I instantly fell in love with Maui cause of his hospitality. Again, highly recommend and thank you for the hospitality and love!!! -Mike

Kind and attentive staff. Amazing location (steps away from the beach.) great price. The bed was comfortable and the room/bathroom were so spacious! We can’t wait to come back!

Clean, nice room!

No hot water.

We needed a hot shower since our current place was on the fritz. They had a fabulous bathroom and a very nice, hot shower. We didn’t stay the night but I could tell it was a good hotel room and the closes to the beach would have been perfect.

Nothing to complain about.

Close proximity to the waterfront. Staff were helpful and friendly. We were able to borrow beach towels. Chairs and umbrella, along with a cooler. Check in and out was easy and the room itself was clean with a very comfortable bed.

Lack of hanging space. We would have liked a wardrobe as there wasn’t one in this room, but there were 4 hangers propped on the ironing board so we were able to hang a few things, but if you were there for a longer stay this might be inconvenient

Convenient to places we wanted to visit

We had 2 rooms 611 and 612. 1. Accommodations not as depicted on website. Furniture and decor very dated. 2. Washing machine is broken and not available. 3. Broken microwave, had to be replaced 4. No spices, sugar or pantry staples in the kitchen. 5. Minimal cooking utensils. 6. 3-day housekeeping cancelled because of staffing shortages. 7. No dishwasher.

If you want to stay in filth, book here. If you want a full kitchen, but not be able to use it due to almost no kitchen utensils or cookware, book here. If you want free parking but no room to park, book here. If you want to be woken up by smoke alarms but no smoke or fire, book here. If you want staff to have to come into your bedroom to rip the smoke alarm out of the ceiling to get it to stop, book here. If you want to have non-working laundry facilities and hot tub, book here. If you want to have a deck with a partial ocean view, but not be able to use it due to it being covered in pigeon droppings or risk pigeons dropping on you, book here. If you want to have no privacy due to vaulted windows and a large opening into the bedroom with no door, book here. If you want minimal housekeeping and maintenance staff to help due to them being just part-time, book here. If you want specific office staff (Lori?, middle age, heavy set woman) to lie to you, book here. I could go on, but I am quite certain there will be a response from owner/manager apologizing and explaining away the issues, so I won't waste anymore of my time. I do want to say that Leni at the front desk is great! She's friendly and helpful and deserves to be associated with a better establishment.
