Newby Bridge Hotel

stayed at the hotel a number of times never had a single issue it’s clean great food and nice bar but what really makes this hotel is the staff everyone always pleasant and nothing is to much for them from reception to the bar to the restaurant to the guy who cleans the pool yes there are so called better hotels in the area but you can’t put a price on quality staff keep up the the good work we will be back again soon

Great 2 night stay in a superior, within the original building, 4 poster bedroom. The room was ginormous so was the bathroom. Bed super comfy, lovely 2 big windows, corner bath with shower. Lots of hot water and clean. Good wifi but also good signal to hot-spot. Breakfast was lovely, hot and fresh though I was always down first at 7.30 Fri and 08.00 Sat. Dinner was lovely too though service slightly slow but nothing to get upset about when on holiday after all. Retreated both nights to the lounge and fire. Perfect! Had no time to use swimming. Corridor was slightly noisy when people walked past but that's to be expected with an old building. Would love to return. Great location

The cabin was lovely and cosy, and I especially enjoyed the hot tub. It made the stay very relaxing and was a great place to unwind

To be fair there wasn’t anything I disliked over the blinds being a bit broken so didn’t feel like i was being covered

Just spent 4 nights at the Newby Bridge Hotel on a coach holiday. Unfortunately I was taken ill on second day and the hotel were wonderful going above and beyond, everyone was so kind. The hotel was kept spotlessly clean, the food in dining room was excellent and all staff friendly and welcoming with a lovely atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend.

No night porter, no bar service after 11pm, doors not locked at gone midnight, nobody around at all , cleaning of public areas didn’t start til almost 9am, wires across doorways, had to climb over vacuum cleaner and wires and rubbish from other rooms to get down stairs, evening restaurant staff not knowledgeable of menus, no condiments offered had to be asked for, Breakfast staff unwelcoming and sullen, food quality at breakfast was unacceptable, Wouldn’t stay again

The location was beautiful. Easy parking and breakfast was great!!

The swimming pool wasn't relaxing 😌 swimming lessons all day and not really a spa!!

Have been to this hotel many times before as it had always been a great experience but missed the last 2 years what a disappointment this time room very noisy don’t accept room 30 or surrounding rooms as they very noisy areas during the day and 6 30am delivery’s. food on evening meal one was substandard and 1 average at best and breakfast was even worse everything cold running out of hot water for the tea which didn’t mater as they ran out of tea bags anyway.

Staff on reception and bar were great and friendly, however the staff in the breakfast room not so great. Didn't say morning or ask if we had been before and knew how things worked i.e. where the cold buffet options and hot drinks were, we had to work this out ourselves. Ordered our hot breakfast, waited 20 minutes and only got it after explaining to another member of staff that we had waited some time and other guests received theirs before us, even though they were in after us. When we received it, it was dry and you could tell it had been sat under the heat lamps for a while. The 2nd morning was better however on both occasions, the cleaner was hoovering at the breakfast room entrance, right at the doors while people were eating - we thought they were bringing it in the room it was that loud and the doors were left open. First cabin went in, the bedding had hairs including pet hair on it aswell as under the duvet and it looked like the bed hadn't even been made. The lovely lady on reception had us moved straight away to a new cbain with no hesitation. Cabin was lovely however our only gripe is that the dust/cobwebs in places could have been cleaned better with a good brush - we know it's hard on wooden grooves but this would help. Food in the bar was lovely. Setting of the hotel and cabin is lovely, plenty views of the lake and fells. Not too many amenities about but that's due to it being a small village. Apart from this, we did have a quite enjoyable stay, hence our 3 star review.
