Nora Beach Resort and Spa

Checked in for 7 nights early October after spending 6 nights in an up market villa in the "hills" of Koh Samui. At first this place looked like a dump but by the end it sort of grew on us. Though ageing, it has plenty of character. The place is set among meandering gardens and ponds. Dining in was a little expensive as were the drinks, compared to the local eateries. Chaweng is about a 5 minute shuttle ride away or a 25 minute walk - we chose to walk most of the time as there are a lot of interesting things to see on the way. By the way I am 71 and my wife is 66 - just be very aware of the traffic, they use both sides of the road in either direction no matter which way they are going. However we think 7 days was probably a bit long a stay here.

Place was great. First checked into our room and felt a little disappointed with it. Paid a lot of money for Thailand and the room was a little scuffed up and was not what we were expecting coming off the other places we stayed in Thailand. I came back to the front desk as told Nung about it and she upgraded us to a villa and it was A LOT better. So thank you so much for that. It made the last three days of the trip great. The staff was also super friendly and helpful. Also took the cooking class with Chef Paula and it was awesome!

Resort was all it advertised to be. All facilities clean and well presented. Rooms all in good condition and cleaned daily. Pool area amazing.

The hotel in general , especially the rooms, are run down and very tired. I was upgraded to a room with a very uncomfortable (old) mattress and the shower was a hand shower only over a 70s style Jacuzzi bath :) Unfortunately not a good experience at all.

Loved this place. Right on the beach. Great pool. Beautiful rooms. Even got a free upgrade. Love the swim up bar, two happy hours a day. Staff were just lovely. A bit out of town but a shuttle a few times a day to get you in so no dramas there. Would definitely stay there again.

Overall a very good experience. Slightly overpriced food and other paid amenities. Average food. Wi-fi doesn't work

The hotel is located in the heart of koh Samui (all main attraction), I was travelling by myself and the staff was just great! Big thank you to '99', 'chen'. 'cha cha' for welcoming me, they were very caring and friendly. Pool and breakfast were great!

Not so good. Staff wasn't friendly. Bell boys were missing at main concierege desk. Buggy drivers wouldn't turn up. Tried to arrange a meeting with Mr. Jeff to voice my opinion the receptionists didn't communicate the message ahead. Be ready for insects as the villas are not so clean. Pond flowing outside the villa is contaminated with plastic bags/ junk thrown there by some filthy guests. The only guy who really works hard in this hotel is the security guard at the main entrance who always set the main road free for entry and exit of our vehicles. Staff seems to be extremely demotivated and the top management is evidently disconnected from reality.
