The lobby and walkways are well-maintained and give the hotel a polished, upscale appearance. The staff were polite and professional. However, the service lacked the warmth and attentiveness typically associated with a higher-end property.

Unfortunately, the experience inside the room was quite different. The room, furnishings, and facilities felt extremely dated and in need of significant refurbishment. There was a noticeable musty smell throughout the room, particularly in the bathroom. The towels and bathrobes were grey in colour and had an unpleasant smell, which was unexpected and did not give a sense of cleanliness. The age of the property was also evident in many other small details. Whenever the water taps were turned on, loud rumbling noises could be heard from the plumbing system. Opening the room door, wardrobe doors, or cabinets was often followed by prolonged creaking and groaning sounds. These constant noises, combined with the dated interiors and dimly lit corners of the room, created an uncomfortable atmosphere rather than the relaxing environment one would expect from a five-star hotel. One particularly unusual feature was a back door in the kitchen that led to an empty room, which then connected to a hidden toilet with a squat toilet and dim orange lighting. Discovering this space was quite unsettling and made the property felt even more eerie. Breakfast was also disappointing. The selection was very limited and felt more like a small bistro offering than a hotel breakfast buffet. The dining area was warm and noisy, which made the experience less enjoyable. Overall, I was surprised by the condition and standard of the hotel. Unless I am mistaken about the hotel's star rating, the experience fell well short of what I would expect from a five-star property.

The staff were friendly. We enjoyed our stay. Will recommend to tourist with big family to stay here as the room was very spacious and comfortable. Will definitely repeat for my future trip to Jakarta.

I believe some rooms have gone under renovatios, while others have not.

Ascott Jakarta is in a very strategic location with easy access to Grand Indonesia. It is also conveniently located next to Plaza Indonesia and Thamrin City, making shopping, dining and getting around very convenient. The apartment was generally clean and well-maintained as requested. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and suitable for families.

There were a few areas for improvement. One of the curtains was not properly fixed and I was unable to find a hairdryer in the room. In addition, the breakfast selection was rather limited and could offer more variety. While these issues did not significantly affect our stay, addressing them would further enhance the overall guest experience.
