"Underwhelmed"

6.0

Pretty far up a steep mountain. No cups or tissues in the room. Sheets were great but mattress was only okay. Really old building. Many things like the hotub were not in working order.

Very nice location. Only 20 minutes to Lake Champlain. Reasonably priced for the season. A few things that were a little bit disappointing: The hot tub's jets were broken and only a hot tub was available, There is a lot of work that still needs to be done, some for safety and some for looks. Very nice staff. One thing I was a bit taken back from was that during our walk through of the facility we were "offered" what appeared to be complementary chocolates, fresh out of the kitchen. (They were delicious) only to be billed for them at check out. Now, only a few dollars but as a consumer I should know when I am being charged prior consumption.

"Quiet getaway very different from usual road motel"

8.0

Out in the country, quiet, rustic location. Outside is a bit weathered but inside is clean, warm, nice. Nothing fancy, but comfy with yoga and hot tub, etc., if you want that. Vegetarian meals (dinner, breakfast) were tasty filling. Ate "family style" at one large table chatting with staff and another couple of guests (there weren't many folks there.) Just very pleasant experience.

"Not the Retreat you are looking for"

4.0

We were a bit dissapointed in our stay. First off they advertised a yoga instructor and a massage therapist. Both of whom had apparently just left??? The Jacuzzi/hot tub only was working as a hot tub and the jacuzzi jets were out of order or something. The outside of the place looked a little rundown and could use some work. The room was neat and tidy. The hot water in the shower was good. But, I did have a couple of carpenter ants in my room. The first of which was crawling on me, the other was on the floor. As far as it being a "retreat" it's located on a main road coming up the mountain and there happen to be some sort of motorcycle convention up the hill so the afternoon was filled with the sound of cycle after cycle buzzing up the road, and also first thing in the morning had them going back down again. The 8am brunch did not come out until after 8:30. All in all, it was not wholly unpleasant but it was not as advertised and I would go back again.

"Distraction free unwind after 9 hour trainings"

8.0

My stay was limited to mostly sleeping and showering because my schedule did not match the meal times that were available. The bed was very comfortable but only had a fitted sheet and a blanket. Shower was nice and warm with good water pressure. The space is very rustic and spartan, but I like that kind of setting because it is free of distractions. As of my visit there were no holistic health services available but the yoga studio and sauna were available 24/7. Daveed is a sweet heart though I could tell he was disappointed I wouldn't be able to attend meals.
