Butterfly Beach Hotel

We first visited Barbados last year and stayed at one of the 4 star multi nationals which was great but we soon realised we needed somewhere where we could alternate a bit of self catering with eating out. We booked Butterfly Beach Beach after seeing how many people returned year after year and yes we have joined them. The hotel is not super smart or ultra modern but it is very comfortable clean and friendly with excellent air conditioning 😁. The staff are all very friendly and The Reef restaurant excellent value - very reasonable priced drinks and food. Only downside is the busy road which made our balcony a bit noisy for relaxing but next year we are treating ourselves to a ground floor swim up pool room - cant wait to return . Thank you Butterfly Beach for a wonderful holiday.

We arrived at the hotel to be greeted by a very angry receptionist, which wasn't the greeting we were expecting, we had to wait an hour and a half until our room was ready, when we eventually got our room key there was no apology or anything. Rooms where clean but in need of an update especially the furniture. We stayed bed and breakfast, which was ok, always hot and lots of it, the only thing that put us off breakfast was the miserable staff, there was no good morning just asked your room number, there was a couple of ladies that were nice Debra was lovely and a young girl but not sure what her name was, and a older guy, they were all lovely and made time for you, I witnessed one girl being spoken to by a guest and she obviously didn't like what he was saying so she just turned her back on him and walked away, just so rude. The food in the restaurant was good and the drinks were not to expensive. It was easy to get about the island as bus stop was outside the hotel. Over all this hotel was ok, but we wouldn't go back. It was the other guest that made our stay good, because it was a small hotel everyone was so friendly.

First time at the hotel and I was impressed. The staff are so kind and helpful. Tamara in the bar was adorable and always up for a chat. I’d stay at Butterfly again. Cato from Housekeeping was also very kind.

About to leave hotel waiting for airport transfer, checked out and discussed with reception we wanted to settle bill on card in bed, but, told not allowed !!! We accepted card machine had been set up by manager to not allow this. But the two on reception then openly started laughing at us. I have never been so upset in any hotel in the world as this one. We are nice friendly people, this is not the service we have received back here. We did ask to speak to manager told not possible!

We had a great stay in the deluxe studio pool view (adult only) room. The room was comfortable, quiet and equipped with a kitchenette. The patio opened directly to the pool with lounge chairs, table and chairs and two anorak chairs. This was a lovely outdoor space to spend time and have lunch. We purchased the half board for breakfast and dinner. We found all the meals were tasty with generous portions. The view of the ocean from the restaurant can’t be beat! Food was delivered promptly by very nice staff. The staff in all departments were friendly and approachable. Masseys grocery store is about 13 mins walk into Oistins. The sidewalks require some vigilance but that is the case everywhere we have stayed in Barbados. I tried not to let the beautiful turquoise ocean distract me when walking into town. ZR buses are going either direction outside of the hotel. Many of the other guests were repeat visitors and we hope to join that group of friendly folks!

We enjoyed our stay at Butterfly Beach. We had emailed 6 months prior to our stay to upgrade to an ocean view room if one became available and Harriet emailed us a few weeks before our stay with availability. Very happy with that. We also upgraded to half board and enjoyed the breakfast and dinners. The staff got to know us (room 217) and we were happy with the food and service. The lady in the shop was lovely and it was a treasure trove as there was so much in there. When we were there there were a lot of regulars who have been coming back and meeting up for years. Very nice friendly atmosphere and well worth a visit, especially if you have an ocean view.
