Castaway Island, Fiji

Excellent resort! Not one thing to fault, beautiful staff, delicious food with lots of options, prestine beaches and pools! Would 100% recommend. We travelled with family and our 2 year old. Very family friendly! Beautiful island, will definitely be back!

We were a family of 12 from 3 - 70 years old travelling to celebrate some milestones together. The resort exceeded what we were hoping for. The staff were incredibly welcoming and polite, the bure rooms were traditionally stylish and very comfortable, the grounds were well maintained and there was a good sense of privacy. The main beach was stunning and there were plenty of included water activity options for all to enjoy, as well as paid extras. The pool area was calm and relaxing, and there was a separate children's pool area for families. Our grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the kid's club activities which included cultural activities. There were a number of eating and bar options for variety and convenience. Overall we could not have been happier with our choice to stay and will gladly return.

Nothing to fault.

This was our 5th trip to Fiji and first to Castaway. And found our experience at Castaway very disappointing. Upon arrival we spoke to reception & the restaurant regarding Breakfast options for 2 adults and 2 children. We were advised the non refundable prepaid breakfast package was the best option. However upon receiving our bill we had been additionally charged breakfast everyday at a cheaper rate they wouldn't honour. My daughter picked up a gastro bug and passed that to 3 out of the 4 of us. I had a massage booked for our last day (which I even confirmed 2 hours prior) however when I arrived at the spa with my receipt from reception the booking didn't exist. Extremely disappointing experience for what we paid and due to this we won't go back.

Very attentive and friendly staff. Lots of sea based activies, pools and kiddies club.

Location, comfort, cleanliness

Food overall was unexceptional. Breakfast buffet in particular wasn’t great

The island and ocean surrounding were beautiful

The property was old and unclean, mould on bedding and stained pillows, musty smell. It was very expensive , no food included. Food very limited and disappointing. Restaurant 1808 not open so limited options. We then saw reviews that say it never was! Adult pool - spa cold, pool always full of little children! Staff not present at the bar or cafe.
