G Hotel Gurney

The booked taxi didn’t turn up and help for organised my taxi to the Penang airport. Fortunately, I have an enough time for arriving at the airport. But if I am in a hurry, it would have to be a problem.

The staffs are warmth and its location is prefect.

As usual wifi has no improvement at all. I have feedback over many times and I have stayed at G hotel for over ten years. Price is a little expensive. Breakfast needs to change its menu as it’s the same for many years.

Hotel air conditioning was great, water for shower was sufficiently hot. Bed was comfortable, the only hotel that provides the right amount of pillows.

While the bar in the room is free, I think the offering is poor. There should be more healthier choices such as zero sugar drinks and maybe a power bar, dark chocolate low sugar. A Coke Zero would have been great. Personally I did not consume any during my stay. The fridge should be a working fridge, not cold at all. The breakfast can be improved, the Indian section is terrible, the curry is fragrant but so salty until it is bitter, the prata is hard and not stale. Chicken sausage is way over steam, would have tasted better if it is grilled. Japanese section could include a miso soup, that is most basic. Lastly the congee would have been great if it is a bit warmer, is cold after you add all the condiments.

Food

Have stayed here countless times, have also stayed in newer facilities or international branded ones, but i keep returning to G Hotel mostly. From check in to check out, everything is always a breeze. Any email correspondence prior to arrival, is always promptly replied to with more than adequate information. Service from all levels, only one word: REMARKABLE. Good location, good food, good service, nice rooms, facilites....can't ask for more.

We had a really nice breakfast during our stay. It was quite busy that morning but the overall experience was still okok and comfortable. Just wanted to highlight this guy Yusoff Ohma, though breakfast period is busy but he still took the extra effort to personally make a cup of teh tarik for my old mother. Really appreciate that small gesture, it meant a lot to us and made our morning even better without having the feeling of being a little lost. Great service like this definitely doesn’t go unnoticed 👍
