Campanile Montluçon - St Victor

For one night stay on our way to the South of France the hotel was very good and very good value for money. The restaurant was ok, but unfortunately only half an hour after opening they had run out of parts of the menu. One of us had to change to another dish for the main course which was not very nice. It was prawns with pasta with no taste and very watery. I only ate the prawns and as it was tasting awful. My partner had the fish dish which was quite nice. We also liked the buffet of starters and desserts. We would use the hotel again but may only have a snack or eat elsewhere.

Arrivés vers 23h00, nous avons eu droit à un acceuil particulièrement froid, avec un véritable sentiment de déranger. Quand on nous a ensuite demandé de régler la taxe de séjour et que, alors que je sortais ma carte bancaire, la personne nous a reproché de ne pas avoir de liquide, cela a définitivement marqué cette expérience comme désagréable. Heureusement, la chambre était très propre. Le confort de celle-ci reste néanmoins sommaire, mais conforme à ce type d'établissement. Cet hôtel est pratique pour un transit très rapide, mais ne peut, selon nous, pas faire l'objet du moindre séjour d'agrément.

Very convenient location and exceptionally friendly and thoughtful staff made a basic stop over an enjoyable experience.

Pity as hotel good in nice garden but service was terrible, not enough staff and totally stressed. Made a restaurant booking had to wait an hour extra for a table and another 30mns for a menu . No apology or greeting. So cancelled. Also cancelled having breakfast. But beware if this happens there are no more restaurants in the area.

After reading the reviews about this hotel we were beginning to regret booking it for an overnight stop on our journey through France. However we were very pleased with the room, on a par with other Campaniles, except there was not a hair dryer. We went to the restaurant for dinner expecting the usual excellent entrecote frites. Not only did they not have entrecote, the fryer was broken so no frites (one child was given burger and rice on a nearby table)and we were kept waiting 40 minutes before anyone took our order. Once we ordered, the food took forever to arrive and was not very good. They needed more staff or at least someone in charge that knew what they were doing. We will not return.

A very comfortable night. Very clean room & quiet. All that we needed.

Having driven a huge distance all we wanted was a bed for the night. So having had to get two rooms to accommodate family of four for £118 one would expect a clean decent bed. I wish I had slept in my car. I suggest YOU do Don't go near the place

check in staff abrupt and unhelpful, same member of staff served us dinner, waited one hour for main course, buffet not replenished, told no wine either in carafes or bottles were available, waitress clearly did not want to be there.

An overnight stay only. Poor room position. Staff not helpful. Restaurant menus are nowhere near as good as they used to be several years ago. The food was reasonable.
