"In the right place for DRUPA"

6.0

We stayed during the giant DRUPA printing trade fair, when the cost of everything doubles (or worse), and having booked late, paid the price. Having said that, Hansa worked well for us and is right opposite the Nordstrasse U-Bahn station – direct for the Messe one way, and one stop from the Altstadt the other!

"Are you kidding?"

4.0

This was insulting. The rating seen on Travelocity was completely wrong. The hotel was very small, with a very weak breakfast. We gad to take turns navigating the room. €159.00 per night fee was significantly over the top. We stayed at a place in Regensburg and then in prague at less than half their rste, that provided a much nicer stay. Travelocity should inspect what they promote and offer. Had anyone from Travelocity ever visited, they would remove this establishment from their listings. I would not recommend this at all. I suspect price gouging as this was a very busy time in Duseldorf with few rooms available anywhere, hence the price. However, even at a lower rate, I would not be happy. The €159.00 just exacerbated the displeasure.

"Very tiny and small but nice staff"

4.0

I was between business trips and stayed at this Hotel in order to cut costs while traveling in Europe. Reviews rated the place as small but it was even smaller than I expected. The front lobby is not really a lobby - just a messy desk where someone checks you in. There is a place for breakfast but I didn't try it. The rooms were incredibly tiny. There was a small TV that was duct taped together, a desk and fridge. Surprisingly, there was a little couch that fit in room and the bed but nothing else. It was clean. If you want to save money, it is a good way to do so as it was convenient to the subway but if you want to spend any time in your room outside of sleeping, this is not the place. However, I will say that the staff are very nice and do their best to help you with directions, taxi to airport, etc.

"WORST HOTEL I HAVE VISITED!"

2.0

Firstly I have read lots of reviews saying that the old lady on the front desk is nice and i cannot disagree with that. It is in the centre of Duss but down a dingy street and next door to a charity shop. If i had payed €40 for a family room for the night i would have taken it as a lesson learnt for going cheap but this was €150 for the night without breakfast. My first thoughts of the hotel was that the reception does not look like the pictures i had looked at online (on another well known hotel booking site) but tried to put any negative thoughts away as i wasn't going to be sleeping at the reception desk. We were shown to our room down in the basement and through a corridor with junk and a couple of chairs sat outside of our room. We were told we could sit in the junk corridor if we wanted to????????? The room itself was beyond belief, Without ranting on, It was a cellar store room, probably converted about 15 to 20 years ago with old furniture. 4 beds were pushed together in a line with a strange 80's looking cabinet with a grubby old portable TV on it. The ceiling had a couple of areas that were made up of those glass bricks that you see on footpaths in city centres to let light into the cellars below. There was a sink behind a curtain with a 30 year old stereo built into a shelf next to it. I will attach pictures to make up your own mind about the room. At that point we decided this hotel was not for us and asked to cancel the booking but were told NO as we booked with a site such as this. After politely trying to explain the Hansa was not for us and it was overpriced for what was being offered we were told it was a hotel for "poor people" and we could not find anywhere else this cheap. I contacted the booking site and thankfully they arranged for the booking to be cancelled without fees and i was refunded. To summarise i would not stay in this hotel if it was free! A nice old lady on the desk is not the only thing you can base your hotel on. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Duss that gives you the feeling of being Human Trafficked, then this place is for you!

"A definitely not"

2.0

We actually decided not to stay in this hotel. The list of reasons is quite long: the reception desk where nobody was present for two hours, the poor excuse from the lady who finally showed up ("I had to fix my car"), the construction site in the court, the dark room because of the planks on the window. At the end, we decided that we would stay somewhere else.

"Convenient for single low-maintenance male"

4.0

The room was about the size of a single economy-class cruise liner. The bed was tiny (maybe 30 by 72 inches). There was no breakfast available. On the plus side, the internet worked well and the location relative to the subway and tram was terrific. There are places to grab food very close by.

"Not so bad"

4.0

The hotel is very well located in front of Subway station Nordstrabe, there is free wi-fi in all places but very hard to connect due some configuration of the router, the old lady in the front desk is very helpful and nice, she helped us with our bags from the hotel lobby to the subway platform! the only problem is that our room was very dirty, a lot of hair in the bathroom and a lot of dust

"Horrible place"

2.0

It is the 1st time to write a review and i am not a picky person when it comes to hotels but I could not stand the anger, 3 night spent there, the place is rather horrible and dull, took advantage of the trade fair in Duss which I was not aware of, I paid the price of a 5 star hotel with Breakfast for this place, No warm water when it was -10 and when i asked i was told it is not their fault, that the whole hotel is this way and that the water should come back tomorrow!!!! Never go there, this is a scam!!!! Only Plus was the internet.

Stayed here for one night for the Medica trade fair, very expensive and no value or quality, breakfast was terrible. Would of rather slept in our rental car. Completely took advantage of the trade fair. Horrible
