Comfort Inn Newport

Comfort Inn for the win!! We came to Newport after having visited the north coast. We had reservations at another hotel in Depoe Bay. We arrived in Depoe Bay around 7 p.m. and saw the hotel sign. We decided to go have dinner first then check into the hotel after dinner. We finished dinner somewhere around 8:30 and drove to our hotel. When we arrived, the hotel was abandoned. It was not operational! It was now closer to 9 p.m. I was panicked! It was late, we were tired and we did not have a hotel to stay for the night. I then Googled "hotels near me" and the Comfort Inn in Newport came up (about 20-30 minutes south of Depoe Bay). Having just experienced arriving to an abandoned hotel that took my reservation (online), I was hesitant to make a reservation and decided to drive to the hotel to see if for myself. We passed a few hotels on the main street in Newport that looked dated and gave the impression that the interior would be dingy. I didn't have a lot of hope. I turned down a street to get to the Comfort Inn (it's not on the main road). As we approached, instantly a wave of relief overcame me! The hotel looked new. The parking lot and surrounding area looked safe. In the parking lot, I logged onto Booking.com and made the reservation (sometimes making a reservation online is cheaper than reserving directly at the hotel as a walk-in. The staff was very friendly and almost immediately we were in our room. I learned there was a larger, second parking lot around the back. And, parking was free. The room was clean and had everything we needed! The bed was incredibly comfortable! It is definitely no frills, but it exceeded my expectations! The hotel also provides a free breakfast which really hit the spot the next morning. Items at breakfast included hot and cold items. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Very clean, comfortable. Recently refurbished to a good standard. Furniture, fittings and appliances in good order. Plentiful standard carb breakfast. Helpful staff. Close to beach. Would stay again

No view

For a last minute hotel change, this fit the bill. It was clean and offered breakfast. The rooms are updated and there is either elevator or stair access to reach floor. They had fresh cookies, coffee, hot chocolate available by the check in desk as well. The front desk staff at check in and check out were both very friendly and had a kind demeanor. Close to grocery stores and restaurants and good option to stay at during our road trip down the OR coast.

The reception was very warm. Coffee / water / cookies. The bed was comfortable - room was acceptable. Good value!
