TUI BLUE Grand Azur

I really wanted to give this hotel 5 stars. I really did. Unfortunately 1 thing happened that I wasn't impressed with and that made me drop that one star... more later Due to the flight we chose, we didn't arrive at the hotel until 5am! Welcome arrival though and our suitcases were carried into reception/foyer. Polite receptionist gave us our door cards and towel cards plus the wrist band (please remember to wear them as there are security to check if you have them - we were stopped to check ours as we had long sleeves on!) I have been to a few hotel beds in my years and the bed here was the most comfortable one I've ever had the pleasure to sleep in (better than home! - or could that be due to the long day travelling just to arrive) After 3 hours sleep well got up and made the most of the day. Food and drink - i have never had all inclusive for a hotel stay before so this is new to me. Oh this is the way to live!! The standard of food display, choice, temperature of the food, serving and waiting staff were all just brilliant. Only thing was there was no ice cream - apart from one dessert near the end of our stay. Your eyes will be bigger than your belly when you see the choice of foods!! And thats not just one meal, thats 3 meals a day, 7 days a week!! Outstanding. There are so many waiting staff to clear up as soon as you finish a meal to clear away for your next course. They are all so polite and smiling. We didn't use the gym, indoor pool and the Spa. Or even the restaurant on floor 5 that is A la Carte. That first day we went for a walk along the promenade to walk off breakfast - what a mistake that was. It actually made us stay within the hotel grounds for rest of week! There are people touting for your custom, whether it be for your excursions, meals or to buy something. Straight away, going from one business to another. You want to go for a walk but you can't co you kept getting stopped and they would start to have a conversation which is great dont get me wrong but we didn't want to buy anything - all inclusive after all. However we did book an excursion with "Happy Ali". A boat trip on the Romeo ship. £40 for 2 people from 10am to 4pm visiting Paradise Island, stopping for half hour for those who want to swim, get up close to a cave opening for the next stop, moving across the bay mouth to stop in a course for an included BBQ (we didn't take as still recovering from breakfast) then onto another wee cove to stop for an hour and a half for shopping (again people touting for business- we just sat at the harbour and watched. Nothing wrong with the products, fakes maybe and prices are my kinda prices but I just knew that I didn't have any spare space in my suitcase to fitt anything in! After that we stopped at another wee cove for 45 mins for anyone wanting a swim, then tootled back to harbour to get another minibus back to our hotel. Now this would have been excellent if the temperature was hot, it was baltic even colder than being at home and we just wanted it to be over and we weren't the only people who thought that. Someone even asked if we could skip that last stop for a swim and go back but apparently they couldn't. Its all timed. The hotels grounds are amazing. Well laid out and the plants are all looked after. Plenty of sunbeds around for everyone. There are different areas for them - beside the pool, couple of different grassy areas and then even more down at the sea front. Tall palm trees were swaying in the breeze. Hotel is huge. There is a main bar in the hotel and a couple of smaller bars - one beside the pool and one down at the sea front. Plenty of drinks to be had under the all inclusive. Any drinks they import = you pay for. There is a photographer based at the hotel too. He was amazing. He walks around the grounds (as does the Spa man) asking if you would like a photo shoot. We did and it works out as £8 per photo but we took the deal that he offered. Photo album and all photos put to your iPhone. Memories. There are some Tui reps going about also so if you have any questions queries or suggestions they are there to help. Muhammed introduced himself to us and chatted with us a few times over the week. He always asked if we needed anything. Very polite and we felt he was interested in us. Oh yes.. our room. Again brilliant, everything that we need. There's even a safe and a fridge. Every room has a balcony but it all depends on the view doesnt it. We had a view of mountains but all about 7 other hotels. If you want an early night, forget it. Loud entertainment from the hotel behind was on until 11pm! We didn't mind people watching at the other hotels and the morning sun was that side. If we had a room at the other side with a sea view, you'd still have loud music i expect as there is a stage that side for live entertainment from 9pm. And so it is time to reveal the reason why I have dropped that 5th star .. the last night we were there, usual 11pm stoppage of live entertainment from the hotel behind us. Finally get some sleep [ well some of us as other can snore just as loudly as the live entertainment ] until there is a loud announcement in every room at midnight in Turkish and then English that you have to vacate the hotel to the nearest fire exit and this is not a drill. Absolute shambles!! There wasn't a member of staff to be seen to tell you what was going on or where to go. We did the right thing and went down the stairs and to the fire point. No member of staff there either. So so disappointed in the hotel. No one seemed to care!! I had just about got an hour's sleep when I have to go wandering around the hotel and then the grounds barefooted and swiping on a hotel robe from the room's wardrobe on the way out the room. The guy hosing down the footpaths at midnight just carried on spraying, the member of the bar staff laughed at us and said false alarm and no apology. Ridiculous. Just because it was a false alarm doesnt mean you dont bother, surely it is good practise to go through the motions of a real fire!! To this day I dont know what happened. What triggered that alarm. However this hotel gave me what I need and that was to chill for a week and forget life's worries. That's the main thing for me. We didn't explore Marmaris so we can advise where to visit. Temperatures for our stay ranged from 22 to 28. One day we had rain but it wasn't for the day. Another day was windy and cold but we were out at sea. We had 3 full days of glorious sunbathing with Temperatures 25 to 28. Came away with a suntan to be proud of :0) After all that, I really would highly recommend this hotel

I did not use the breakfast lunch or dinner which were all inclusive because I was there on business but the hotel staff competently spoke English and I enjoyed one drink at the bar for which I was charged but it was nice quality - so no problem

Jako loš sales management hotela, koji 3 mjeseca prije samog boravka nije pokazao nimalo razumijevanja za problem koji nam se dogodio sa promjenom letova, unatoč sto smo bukirali 4 sobe za 7 nocenja. Odgovori su bili jako kratki, dolazili sa velikim odmakom i nisu dali nikakve mogućnosti jer smo uzeli opciju bez mogućnosti otkazivanja. Jasno je kakva je to opcija, ali dogodio nam se problem i na kraju nismo mogli iskoristiti sva noćenja uopće. Nisu nam za taj dio ponudili niti masažu doslovno. Jako loš tretman za 5*

Odlična hrana, jako raznovrsno

Objekt nema grijane vanjske bazene i ne mogu se isti koristiti u ovaj period godine jer je prehladno. Jako loš hotel management sa kojim smo komunicirali 3 mj prije samog boravka. Dogodio nam se problem sa promjenom leta. Hotel je bio bukiran za 4 sobe na 7 nocenja. Nisu nam dali mogucnost nikakve promjene niti opciju za bilo što. Nismo iskoristili sva noćenja i put nam je ispao vrlo kompliciran i dugotrajan s malom djecom za ovaj termin, ali nisu nam zauzvrat ponudili niti besplatnu masažu.

Deniz manzaralı odalarda akşam dans gösterilerinin gürültüsünden gece 23:00 e kadar uyumak imkansız. Yataklardaki yastıklar çok sertti.
