Hampton Inn & Suites Grand Rapids-Airport 28th St

Room was clean and spacious. Service was exceptional.

I thought we had 2 queen beds when purchased but only one queen with a pullout couch bed.

We came here for a family get-together-3 rooms, 3 seniors and 1 family with kids. Everyone was happy. We got to the breakfast buffet about a half hour before it ended and it was pretty picked over. Yogurt was gone and fruit too, but they did replace those. Breakfast was certainly sufficient with sausage, eggs, and potatoes. But the staff was wonderful, the entire facility was super clean and I liked the decor- very simple (sort of a Swedish vibe). We will stay here next time we come back. One important note: our GPS took us to the Target parking lot, but once there, stay to your left and follow the road around and up to your left for the hotel. It’s off the beaten path which makes it peaceful and quiet.

Love the Jr Suites where we always stay as they have lots of space. They are located on 1st floor Rooms 101 - 104 they may be the same location on higher floors. We like first floor as they are right next to the parking lot

The pillows had a smell to them and the breakfast was not very good

This Hotel is conveniently located near the Ford International Airport and has a shuttle to the airport. We’d like to send a shout out to two people in particular at this Hotel. Page at the front desk is a Gem. She is kind and accommodating. We’ve stayed here several times and she is always takes great care of us. We would also like to mention Ms. Brenda. She always provides a wonderful Breakfast and she also provides safe and entertaining transportation to and from the airport. We truly enjoy our visits with Ms. Brenda. Thanks to these two and everyone else here for making our stays wonderful.

Nice area and hotel. Had very pleasant weekend stay, comfortable beds, quiet air conditioning, breakfast was average.

I was not recognized as a Gold member when I arrived. I had to ask the evening Front Desk gentleman if I was given any welcome gifts. He provided two bottled waters. (The next morning, I noticed the glass case with various items I could choose from, which was not offered to me the night before.) I went back to the Front Desk to get a key for my guest and similar to when I entered, he was sitting in the breakfast area talking to someone who appeared to be the maintenance worker or another employee of this location. Later, my guest and I noticed our room had "motion lights" in the hallway and the bathroom as we were preparing for bed. I called down to the Front Desk to see if they could be shut off, and after 10 rings, NO ANSWER! After experiencing the bright lights automatically turning on in the middle of the night when one of us went to the bathroom, I went down to the Front Desk and talked with the morning Front Desk attendant, Jennifer. What an exceptional employee compared to the night Front Desk individual! I said we need to change rooms as we could not deal with the bright lights in the middle of the night for the next two nights. She said the lights could be disabled and she sent the morning maintenance man immediately over to make the electrical change. This gentleman was also very professional and completed the hallway light change, but did not have the required equipment to change the bathroom light. He said he would get the materials the next day. Unfortunately, the parts must not have been available because the bathroom light was not changed before we left on Sunday morning. The room was clean and comfortable, and the free breakfast was quite nice. A special shout out to the woman who maintained the breakfast set up. She was another cheerful employee, who smiled every day and kept the area well maintained. She and Jennifer were two staff members we appreciated. I doubt I will stay here again if I visit the Grand Rapids area. I noticed a Marriott property next door and I'm also a Gold member there; I will give them a chance if I return to this city.
