Hilton Madrid Airport

Good beds, friendly staff, proper food at the bar.

Location close (not on) the airport, little misleading, but a 8 minute drive is considered close, but not walkable. Bathroom is over designed and not practical: shower is tiny with a super slippery floor (!!!), too many glass obstacles ((i.e. using the bathroom at night), one glass sink that has gaps in the back and is therefore not practical. Stuff drops behind it on the floor. Light switches are non sensical and worst, no coffee maker in the room. Automated wake up call came at 12:36 am instead of the programmed 6 am. After reading bad reviews on line about the free shuttle being crowded and poorly organized, which was basically confirmed by the receptionist upon check in: "make sure you are at least 15 minutes early downstairs for the shuttle"), we decided to get our own taxi. Hilton has to know this destination is for travelers, so: practical bathroom (anti slip shower, double sink) coffee maker in the room guarantee transportation to the airport Adapt restaurant hours to foreigners/travelers and be open for dinner without interruption, although the bar menu was certainly adequate.

This hotel is good for an overnight stay if you fly next day

Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely, modern, big rooms with excellent shower. Restaurant and bar were also excellent. We had to leave before 6.00am and the hotel provided a coffee, juice and croissant station behind the lift. Brilliant touch! The early morning staff in particular were also very helpful as they looked after our disabled friend .
