"Interesting to say the least"

6.0

Stayed here in late august for a week. It was a last min trip so we had to budget on the hotel, but i wouldn't be doing that again or staying here again. It wasn't the worst place in the world but not a great hotel in regards to location, friendliness, tourist and services. Firstly they need to update the place, very dated like 1970s-1990s style and the cigarette infused chairs made me feel sick. Reception staff are not very friendly to be honest, one man seem to have a staring problem( f**k knows why) its a very big hotel, a lot of space, but the numbering of the rooms is very confusing. the hotel atmosphere is pretty dead, no entertainment, just blasted music every morning by the pool, which we never used. our rooms were clean, they cleaned it everyday, but again needs to be updated. The location of the hotel itself isn't great, so you have to be open minded about that, but getting a taxi by the hotel is super easy. Breakfast is very basic, not a lot of variety and bland, so again do not be surprised if your still hungry. to get to the touristed side (yasmine hammemet) it will cost you about £9 going and coming, were you will see great restaurants and yasmine beach, which is lovely. there is also a local cafe about three doors down from the hotel, food is so nice and cheap, will recommend going there when you can. all in all, for the price, you get what you pay for, but wouldn't be returning there again.

"Really Nice Hotel, but Google Maps has it wrong!"

8.0

Would have given this 5 Stars, but the address given for this hotel (Ave Abou Dhabi, Hammamet 8050, Tunisia) gives you the wrong location on Google Maps, and my suspicious nature leads me to believe that the hotel management have done this on purpose :). The hotel is located in the centre of Hammamet and not near Hammamet Sud. Its about 3km away from the Medina. Saying this however, the hotel is well located and to be honest I was glad it was not located in Hammamet Sud. Enough of the location. In terms of value this hotel gets 5 stars. Its a budget hotel (paid about 16GBP for a double room with breakfast), but you do get a lot for your pound, including decent air conditioning. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Both the room and the bathroom were clean and well maintained. The furnishing could do with updating, but this is a minor point. Whats great is that you get a fairly large balcony area overlooking the pool. If you want a TV or Fridge, you will have to pay an extra 5 dinar per night for each (a little steep). There is no wifi in the rooms, but you can access it for free in the reception/lounge area of the hotel. On the whole the hotel is well maintained and the staff a really helpful and always smiling (the Tunisian way). The pool is a decent size and clean, but the great thing is that it is not overrun with tourists clabbering for a space. Once you get used to the room numbering (which is a bit chaotic) the hotel is quaint and has a certain charm to it. Spend one night here and was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Would stay here again without a question, especially in respect to the price. Although the hotel is not located near the main beach areas, the hotel does have a bus service which will take you to Hammamet Sud on a regular service. However, located where it is, you do get a real feel of hanging out with the locals and experiencing the real Tunisia. The area is safe and you do not feel threatened walking around at night. Its only a short taxi ride to the main centre and the Medina.

"value for money budget hotel but needs some TLC"

6.0

We paid £8.50 pp bed and breakfast high season via Quickrooms. Our room was basic but very clean. The cleaning man did a great job, changed the sheets and towels regularly. Free air con too which was much needed with 40 deg C daytime + well over 30 even at night. The internet computers in the lobby were broken, however if you had your own laptop, ipad or smart phone etc you got free wifi Breakfast was fine. Bit of meat, bread, cakes salad and eggs, tea , coffee and juice The pool was decent enough, plenty of sun loungers. Only 5 mats for them though. The pizza/barbecue hut was closed, as was the pool bar and the animation was cancelled as the hotel was not that busy over Ramadan. Main bar was open though and drinks and snacks were reasonably priced. The hotel runs a courtesy bus to its private beach area "cafe del Mar" We however preferred to just walk to and use the beach and facilities at the nearby 5 star Royal Azur.Beach was free but they charged 10 dinar to use their lovely pool Within 10 minutes walk of Amira there are some great restaurants- Time Out, Black and White, Cap Azul, La Fontana, El Carino plus a few fast food outlets and fruit shops. Next door to Emira theres a little cafe/restaurant called Le Petit Pechard. Locals come from all over to eat here. Its only open for around 3 hours and its absolutely manic. We tried a few times but it was so busy we just couldn't get a table.Maybe settle down after Ramadan as its opening hours coincided with the ending of the faste Overall the Hotel Emira was fine for us, we did not pay a lot for our stay so it was great value for money. If the management could maybe just get their act together, get some mats for the sunbeds, fix up all the broken stuff, then this little place could be transformed from ok to great.

"Clean and courteous"

8.0

Just come back from a week in this hotel. The room was large and airy with effective air con. Cleaned every day with fresh towels and bed linen every day too. Free bus to the private beach which serves food and drinks and even first aid when my partner had a fall was brilliant. If you want to experience a slice of the real Tunisia go there - it is a good 20 minutes from the more touristy Jasmine Hammamet but prices are a good deal lower there for drinks and food. The staff go out of their way to be helpful - changing a bed mattress as we found it uncomfortable and allowing us our lie ins and still cleaning the room. I am quite a fussy guest at hotels but this hotel lives up to its three star rating, basic, clean and comfortable.

"Boende i "riktiga" Hamamet"

8.0
