Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort and Spa

A magical, enchanting place with a unique design, nestled in the forest. Absolutely loved everything, the breakfasts were amazing, and the cuisine was outstanding.

The front desk staff were quite slow, and I encountered several situations where I made a reservation for a class within the hotel, but it wasn’t entered into the system. So there are some minor issues with the staff that could definitely be improved.

Santhiya is set in the island’s remote northeast, about 30 minutes from the main piers and livelier areas. Getting around is difficult—taxis are expensive, and the steep roads make renting bikes impractical. The area is quiet, with a handful of low-key venues that close early, often by 9pm. The resort suits those seeking a very peaceful stay, but it lacks atmosphere—even in high season, evenings were notably quiet. It’s not adults-only, with a fair number of families present. Rooms have good views but feel small and cluttered with oversized furniture. Facilities appear dated and not fully maintained to a luxury standard. Staff are friendly, though communication (especially via WhatsApp) lead to mistakes and miscommunication, and check-in/out felt unnecessarily complicated. The top pool lacks shade, while the lower pool has limited sunbeds, pushing most guests to the beach. The sea wasn’t always very clean. Overall, a scenic but very quiet resort that may not justify its price unless you’re specifically looking for isolation.

The reception was appalling and in no way reflects the standards of a hotel of this caliber.

Location. It was THE ONLY hotel that had thr view of the coastline as well as the sea. All others were looking out to see and the coast line is beautiful at night.

Sehr weitläufige und ruhige Anlage etwas abseits gelegen, durch die steilen Straßen kann man sich mit einem Holz-Pickup in Santhiya Stil abholen und fahren lassen, Frühstück super, Strand ist privat und damit sehr angenehm, natürlich nicht der schönste auf Ko Phangan, aber für uns war es ok- Pool und Bungalow waren in Ordnung, alles zur Zufriedenheit, war sehr privat, man konnte von außen nichts einsehen, BBQ am Strand war auch i.O. Resort bietet einige kostenlose Aktivitäten wie Yoga, muay thai, etc an Spa war etwas teurer aber sehr gut Das Hotel hat definitiv 5 Sterne verdient...

Der Start mit einem Zimmerwechsel aufgrund eines dreckigen Pools, wurde allerdings innerhalb kürzester Zeit organisiert, hätte mir aber gewünscht gar nicht erst (nach 2h Warten auf Check-in, da wir bereits ab 1.00pm da waren) so einen Bungalow angeboten zu bekommen - danach aber alles in Ordnung
