La Piramide

The owner and the staff were very helpful, professional and kind. Very good breakfast. The room had a lot of space: we were two adults and two kids in a quadruple room, and we still had plenty of space for luggage etc. The temperature of our room was very good at our arrival (21 C). Excellent location: the Hotel is only a few mins walk from the beach, cafés, etc. Recommended!

The room could benefit from some refurbishment, but this did not prevent an excellent and comfortable stay.

+ size of room + clean room + fridge and air conditioning worked well + free parking lots nearby - communication in English partially possible with the negative consequences arising from that (miscommunication, no advices, no info about breakfast time etc.) - at 8.45am hardly anything of breakfast was left (no refilling) opposed to what was promised on booking.com (breakfast until 10.00am) - beach club costs the regular price although there is a cooperation with the hotel - there are no balcony furniture - apparently it is mandatory to leave the key at the reception - Roccalumera isn't a touristic town

Read a lot of reviews before we went and was a bit worried about the choice we made but we were pleasently suprised.The staff at the hotel were very nice and helpful The bed linen was changed every day The bedroom was big and spacious The decor in the hotel was a little dated but everywhere was kept clean There was a good selection of food at all the sittings .The entertainment was very poor nothing to keep kids amused There were plenty of sunbeds around the pool but you need to be up early to get the good spots. The hotel is very close to all the bars and restaurants and beach Overall we had a very good week and would return to this hotel

i would not recommend this hotel to families. There is no sightseeing, surrounding shops, eating places etc are all closed during day. For breakfast all you get is a dried cold shrivelled up crossiant. There is no tea/coffee facillities available in your room, the phones do not work, if you need to make a private call you have to use the one in the reception where the owner is listening. There was ants in the room,the safe in the room is broken cannot be used. My family was physicialy upset because there was no way out.

While browsing google earth, i found this hotel and i liked the location since it was right between taormina and messina. I arrived there pretty easily. Hotel in itself is not something amazing, looks ok and clean, but not spectacular. Hotel staff was nice and friendly, and we also had a chat with the owner and he is quite nice as well. The rooms are quite spacious... very plain and simple and the bathroom is fairly large too, the room has airconditioning which was a big plus since i was a bit sunburned and the AC helped to cool down. one major problem that i had in this hotel is that apparently there is a train rail nearby, and when the train passes by, it was quite audible and a bit annoying. Worth nothing though that i diddnt hear this at all while i was sleeping. There was a problem with one of the neighbouring houses or a parked car though and the alarm was beeping at various intervals during the night, i believe i woke up 3 times... it's not the hotel's fault though.
