Location

Road noise kept us awake both nights. Had to keep window open as room was very hot. Lots of arguing and shouting coming from a room next to ours all night on Sunday. Quite scary. Had to call reception to address. No air conditioning that worked. Most channels on tv did not work.

Hotel is dated and old fashioned. Grand for a night though.

Distance from reception to room

The location was fantastic, very close to town centre and a short walk from the town’s historical and famous landmarks. Our room had a great view of the River. The hotel’s bar and restaurant was very convenient and very nice - the only issue being they lost internet connection so everything purchased had to go on the room account.

The rooms have no air conditioning. While we can’t blame the hotel for the temperature, there was nothing we could do to cool our room. Our room (with a great view) was directly over the Main Street which was very busy and had a lot of noisy locals so if we opened the windows for cooler air we couldn’t sleep because of the noise and if we had the windows closed we couldn’t sleep because of the heat. Sadly, it was a waste of a large double bed.

2 minutes walk from the train station. Great location for walking.
