"Orange Alert."

6.0

Stayed at Hotel Palladio for 3 days. It has a good location, right in the middle of Giardini Naxos overlooking the beach on one side and the main street on the other.Close to Taormina but if you go there be prepared for overpriced chaos, crammed with coaches and greying tourist couples arguing with each other. If you must go don't take your car, you'll regret it!!! Very pleasant staff in hotel Palladio, very helpful. The room was large and well furnished, with a balcony overlooking the street. A kettle was provided. The room decor was a bit too orange for my tastes but somebody will like it I suppose. I only managed to get up early enough for breakast once, but it was fine, hardboiled eggs aplenty, gallons of coffee to wash them down, and all the other continental stuff. My only problems with hotel Palladio was the pitifully slow internet , as bad as dial up, and the fact that, although I booked because it said it has parking, it really only has a couple of spaces on the street. They are always occupied so you end up driving round in circles for half an hour looking for an empty space. You end up walking half a mile to the hotel. The hotel has a lift but I should warn that it 's tiny , 3 people max it said. It works OK though and I am sure it's fun if you are on "intimate" terms with your fellow ascendees.

"Pasta con Sarde"

8.0

This hotel was a keeper. Older, small elevator but the nicest staff in all of Italy, including Sicily. Only 4 parking spaces, but I nailed one. The ocean view was beautiful, the older beds were super comfortable, and everything is near. Have been to Sicily 5 times now, and by far the best restaurant in the Taormina area was down the street. Would I come back? If I wasn't an old Sicilian American, and near the final chapter....definately!

"Nice place, but the bathroom smells funny"

6.0

Friendly staff, nice spot by the ocean (but overlooking a gas station). Only drawback was the bathroom had a funny smell, almost like propane or a slight sewage smell.

"Fabulous Hotell"

10.0

It was really a lovely hotel, and the staff ever so nice. Because it was winter time they upgraded our room, the breakfast was lovely. We have wonderful views from our hotel room. I really could not fault this hotel, it was amazing

"Beautiful room on the ocean"

10.0

I had requested a family room for four. Our room was upgraded to a two bedroom suite on the ocean and piazza. It had a beautiful sunny room that you could hear the ocean waves at night. The other window was on a small piazza with a church. It was Christmas week and I awoke to Italian bagpipe music coming from a man outside the church welcoming churchgoers to mass! In the afternoon the room was sunny and warm. The other room was on the piazza. Both rooms very generous sized. It was a fabulous room and breakfast was overlooking the ocean. Wonderful breakfast. Some very tasty items not normally served.

"Lovely gem in the off season, close to Taormina"

10.0

Had a great time here! We came in the off season, but still most places were open. The hotel is very nice inside, we had a sky view room without a balcony, but it had a great skylight that opened. The people at the front desk were very nice, and the breakfast ladies were as well. They are very helpful with ideas on places to go and things to see, the archeological site in Naxos was a great stroll on a nice day. Bathroom was the best we had seen yet in Italy, everything very clean and cheery. There is a public bus to Taormina, but we had trouble with it never being even close to on time.

"First rate experience"

10.0

For Americans with practically no Italian, this is a great place to stay. The english speaking staff is superior in every way. The family owned & run business has a dedication to fresh, local & organic. The breakfast was a thing of beauty. We opted for dinner one night - it was fresh from the sea, beautifully prepared, tasty and served on the veranda overlooking the sea. Their excellent Sicilian white wine doesn't hurt a bit. On check out, the desk staff helped us make sure our gps was giving good directions to our next stop.

"great location/excellent staff"

10.0

Hotel Palladio is located across from the free beach or you can get a deal from them on a chair. It is also right acroos the street from the bus stop to Taormina (do not recommend driving there) which takes 15 minutes. Hotel is decorated by local artists with lovely antique furniture. Terrace on the roof is unique in colourful blue, with a daybed, various tables and chairs and even a sunroof with shower to catch some rays. Staff is young and exhuberant. Would definitely stay again.

"A bit "tired""

6.0

The staff was very nice and helpful. But the hotel needs a major overhaul. Small, old fashioned bathroom, no desk in room, old bed/mattress.Small lift, one person with luggage per ride. Noisy location, across gas station, but across the beach. Excellent breakfast. No parking.

"Great service"

8.0

The hotel is fine for a three star. Service was excellent and the staff couldn't do enough for us. They helped with the bus timetable, set up a tasting menu in the restaurant for us on our first night and let us borrow an umbrella to get some shelter from the sun at the beach. The cleaning service was good. It would have been better if there was a safe and a fridge in the room. Breakfast was pretty good with freshly squeezed orange juice and they cooked fresh eggs, omelettes and bacon for those who wanted them.
