When we arrived at the hotel around 6:30 p.m., there was an employee who appeared to be Indian, about 50 years old. There was a strong smell of marijuana in the hotel lobby, near the reception area. I approached the employee and said that I had a reservation under my name. He confirmed that the reservation had already been paid and asked me for a $50 deposit, which, according to a notice at the hotel counter, would be refunded within seven business days. Before making the deposit payment, I asked the employee about the breakfast hours, and he told me that the hotel did not offer breakfast. I said that my reservation “included breakfast,” but he replied that there was nothing he could do because the hotel did not serve breakfast — and if I didn’t like it, I could leave. I said I wouldn’t do that, first because I had already paid for a non-refundable rate, and second because I had nowhere else to stay. I then asked if he could waive the deposit since breakfast was not being provided as stated in the reservation. At that moment, he started to get agitated, raised his voice, and said that now, if I wanted to stay, I would have to pay a $100 deposit. I asked him to calm down and said that at no point did I refuse to pay the deposit — I had only asked if he could waive it — and I told him that I would pay, but the amount he had initially requested, $50. Even more agitated, he started shouting, pointing his finger at me, and said that if I had changed my mind and decided to pay, he had also changed his mind and decided to charge $100 instead — and if I didn’t want to pay $100, I should leave the hotel. My wife said she would call the police, and he began threatening to throw her out of the hotel. At that point, my son became very nervous, thinking the employee might have a weapon, so I decided to leave because I began to fear for our safety. I had to drive two hours in the rain back to Cape Girardeau, where we spent the night, and returned the next morning at 5 a.m. because my son had a game at 7:30 in St. Louis

Roaches and couldn’t change the tv with the remote has to be manually but it was hard to switch to local tv with remote the manager has to come up and change the tv with his remote we won’t be back there

Roaches, first room had all kinds of food and clothes in it. 2nd room he forgot he switched and someone else was given a key. All around awful experience. Never again super 8

Get rid of the roaches and change carpet and bedding
