This was our second visit to Fuerte El Rompido. Greeted warmly at reception. I had booked a classic room but upgraded for a better pool and sea view. Room 6086 was large with a walk in shower and shower over bath, 2 sets of patio doors and a big balcony with table a 4 chairs. Double bed and 2 single beds, possibly a family room. No kettle but I take my own. Safe costs 3 euros a day. There was a fridge where you can place your own drinks. There is a supermarket a short walk from the hotel. The hotel is set over levels, it feels open, breezy and cool. The bar and terrace is a nice place to relax, waiters offering table service. We found all the staff to be friendly, helpful and enjoyed a laugh. With us living in Portugal, saying Obrigada rather than Gracias is second nature, but it was always laughed off, especially when I then said sorry in Portuguese too. The weather was very hot, 33 degrees or so. I found the air conditioning in the room was not that great and had a very warm first night. The second night, I left the patio doors open and it was fine. Restaurant, Lets start with breakfast. Yes, there is tinned fruit, there is also many many fresh fruit options, apples, oranges, grapefruit, plums, pears, kiwi, even beautiful strawberries, (although some guests just loaded themselves up with them). There was a myriad of choice at breakfast, however...You have to search things out. The butter is no where near the toast. I couldn't find jam, marmalade and certainly no marmite! It may well have been there but I couldn't find it. There are fresh churros, but the chocolate sauce was found next to the bacon. No ketchup near the bacon and eggs. Though the egg chef was pretty good. Dinner Buffet, again lots of choice. We like to start with bread, butter, olive oil, olives, we did manage to find this and even balsamic to pop in the oil, however no butter in the evening. The soup on Tuesday night was a lovely carrot soup but on the Wednesday, an awful poultry soup, that was like oily water. Some reviews say the food does not vary, it does. Tuesday we found really nice cold, sliced chicken breast and made up Caesar salads, sadly no chicken on the 2nd night but we didn't go hungry. The pool area is lovely, kept well, clean and tidy. I did not see any of the mad morning rush to put towels on sunbeds, there were plenty of them and beds spread around the gardens so you can always find a peaceful spot in the shade of a tree. I really like this hotel, I like the Fuerte brand, I may try something different next year for a quick break before the summer seasons really kicks off but I will return to this one.

Es un hotel muy completo, tiene de todo y muchos servicios. El buffet espectacular, puedes pasar días allí sin necesidad de salir del hotel.

Me hubiera gustado un horario más amplio de la piscina ya que el primer día no pudimos disfrutar de la piscina es hasta las 20 y llegamos a esa hora

Gostei de tudo. Quarto espaçoso, piscinas com bastantes espreguiçadeiras e a comida é fantástica e variada. Funcionários muito simpáticos e prestativos.

Para mim o único ponto negativo foi o colchão.

El lugar y la atención del personal, te hacen sentir como en casa.

No tengo queja alguna, está todo perfecto.
