great location, very comfortable bedroom, nice staff and a superb dinner restaurant

outdoor lacked comfortable places to sit/relax (the few chairs were soaked even though it hadn’t rained), the breakfast was only fair and very limited

Staff was very nice, eager to please and hard-working. Food was excellent and service in restaurant was generally very good. Property needs some TLC however. These are ownership issues and not day-to-day management concerns: Torn wallpaper stairwell wall and landing. Dim wall light in hallway to room. Non-functioning smoke detector in hallway ceiling. No fire extinguisher in 2nd floor hallway (bracket was empty). Mattress saggy. No tea/coffee in room.

We ate at the restaurant and had very friendly waiter and a delicious dinner. No-one was there at the early hour we dined at and we had a nice table by the window. The Inn is near several other towns and we had tickets to the show playing at the Goodspeed Opera House. A short drive to the theater. Also, we were pleased that our room was ready before 3, so we we were able to check in early.

It was a very warm day and when we came back from lunch our room was very hot,, despite the portable air conditioner. I discovered that the connection to the window was undone. I tried to insert the plastic tubing into the window , but it quickly became undone, Went down to the main desk and a fellow was sent up. He also pushed the hose in but after a short while we noticed that it had fallen out again. Went down again and was offered another room in a back building. Apparently, they have problems with the air in the older building, but all that was needed was some strong tape to keep the hose attached. Coralina met us at the back building, which had better air conditioning and was fine. However, we lost about an hour or so getting this issue resolved. Can't stress how nice Coraline was and helped us move our stuff into our new room (311). Apparently the person who takes care of maintenance was not in that day.

Some confusion about the room was corrected quickly. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was lovely. There were some minor repairs needed but, as it’s still the off season, I’m sure they’re on the to do list. The grounds were beautiful and it looks like an expansion is underway. The restaurants food was superb and we could have eaten there every night. Breakfast was exceptional.

The setting is filled with trees, grasses and beautiful peonies. The Inn itself is a bit dark upon first entry but the dining rooms were beautiful and sunlit. Our room was exactly as pictured and the balcony was unexpected but a welcoming place to relax, drink some wine, and unwind.

The bathtub was generous but there was no obvious way to drain water. We used a small blade under the drain cap overnight to release the water. The cold/hot water handle was missing, so we had to unscrew it from one faucet to remount it to the other. “Emily” was exceedingly rude about the “free breakfast between 8-10 am”. I had said we weren’t big breakfast people but would appreciate a tray of coffee be sent up to the room in the morning. What we got was 2 paper cups. When we decided to try the breakfast on morning #2, Emily was clearly not happy about having to keep the chef on to make us breakfast, or to put on a fresh pot of coffee when we arrived at the dining room at 9:30 to try out the breakfast. At that moment I realized we were the ONLY guests in the place. We never went back for more abuse or breakfast Jean and Krista, were warm and welcoming at the front desk, but Emily has to go!. We’d definitely go back to stay at the Inn, and the parking lot was jammed with diners for dinner that night as Copper Beech Inn has a reputation for great dining. But we were very happy with a little coffee shop and croissant a bit down the road.

The room was large, very nice and clean.
