Andaman White Beach Resort - SHA Plus

Das Einzige, was ich an diesem Hotel wirklich gut fand, war der Strand sowie die Nähe zum Flughafen. Mehr als zwei Nächte würde ich dort allerdings nicht bleiben. Wir haben es hauptsächlich gebucht, um schöne Fotos am Privatstrand zu machen – was auch wirklich gut funktioniert hat – und um vor der Abreise aus Phuket in Flughafennähe zu sein. Das war dann aber leider auch schon alles, was mir an diesem Hotel positiv aufgefallen ist.

Es fing bereits mit der mangelnden Sauberkeit im Zimmer an – egal ob im Bad, am Bett oder im gesamten Raum. Zudem war der Boden tatsächlich schief; vermutlich hat sich der Untergrund gesetzt, sodass das Laminat sich verzogen hat und teilweise nicht mehr richtig zusammenpasste. Weiter ging es mit dem Pool: Dieser war nur etwa 1,20 m tief und weder im Wasser noch im Außenbereich wirklich gepflegt. Auch der Weg zum Pool war in schlechtem Zustand – viele Bretter waren locker oder kaputt. Das größte Problem war jedoch, dass mit Bildern geworben wird (z. B. Sitzmöglichkeiten am Strand), die so vor Ort gar nicht existieren. Das ist für mich ein absolutes No-Go. Vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ganz zu schweigen – meiner Meinung nach ist das Hotel deutlich überteuert und entspricht eher einem 3-Sterne-Hotel, aber keinesfalls mehr.

Bathroom was beyond disgusting, I stay in lots of hotels around the world and this was the nastiest bathroom Ive ever had. The pool is completely tilted but half the grout is missing giving it a run down look. Its a beautiful property but it’s obviously the owners aren’t spending much in upkeep or improvements.

Room was tired, door to bathroom didn’t close. Air con old & noisy Our terrace had no outside table & chairs We stayed in this hotel many times but this time our room was very disappointing. Ask to upgrade our room but we were advised it was full. To us the hotel didn’t seem full.

It's literally like a small paradise for yourself. The resort is not big and it has an entire beach with white sand and palm trees just for the guests. It feels like you are on a pretty much private island there. The staff was very friendly and everyone went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. It was so great we plan to stay there an entire month next year.

We had problems with internet access in our room as one of the access points was defect. Internet was working fine anywhere except in our room. However, as the problem couldn't be fixed easily, they gave us a room upgrade and we moved to another room where everything worked fine.

The Andaman White Beach Tucked away off the main road, the Andaman White Beach Resort feels a little like discovering a forgotten tropical hideaway. We were greeted with warm smiles and a genuinely friendly welcome before being shown to our room — spacious, comfortable, but unmistakably from another era. The hotel was built in 2002 and renovated in 2015, though one suspects the renovation budget may have been… modest. You can see hints of the resort’s former glory everywhere. The turquoise-tiled main swimming pool must have looked spectacular in its day, and in our room the sunken bath and jacuzzi finished in the same tiles would have felt wonderfully luxurious back in 2002. Today, though, the furniture has been painted, some tiles are cracked, and the taps have taken on that slightly tarnished look that only time and sea air can create. It’s all still charming — just with a gentle patina of age. The outside restaurant and bar are simple but good, and the sea views from the bar are quite literally unbeatable. You sit there looking straight onto what can only be described as paradise. The resort itself is wrapped in jungle, and the soundtrack is a wonderful mix of rustling leaves, distant wildlife, and waves rolling onto the shore. The staff are excellent — always smiling and clearly proud of what they do. Special mention to Alex, who was friendly, informative and an all-round top guy. I’m not entirely sure who the manager is, but everyone certainly seems to know their job. Breakfast was excellent, happy hour was even better (the Piña Colada deserves particular praise), and although the odd weed growing bravely around the pool hints again at the resort’s past splendour, the atmosphere remains wonderfully relaxed. The resort is about a 15-minute walk to Nai Thon village, though the walk involves a road with very little pavement — so unless you enjoy living dangerously, a taxi for around £7.50 is probably the wiser option. Nai Thon itself appears to be something of a Russian province these days — quite extraordinary how many there are. That’s not meant as a criticism at all, just an observation — they all seemed to be enjoying the sunshine as much as we were. But the true USP of this resort is the beach. It is absolutely stunning. My wife and I actually renamed it “Ray-Ban Beach”. Why? Within an hour of arriving we wandered down for a gentle paddle, only to be hit by a rogue wave that swept both our pairs of glasses clean off our faces and out to sea. We spent the next few days searching the shoreline in vain… hence the name. Consider yourselves warned. All in all, I’d give the resort four stars. It would easily be five if the property weren’t a little tired around the edges. That said, the charm, the beach, and the wonderful staff more than make up for it. And yes — we will definitely return.

Der Privatstrand und das Meer war wunderschön. Sehr gutes Frühstück. Das Essen war das beste in unserer ganzen Thailandreise. Personal sehr freundlich. Bequemes Bett (nicht zu harte Matratze). Bequeme Strandliegen mit Auflagen. Meerblick vom Zimmer war schön.

Das Hotel wirbt mit falschen Fotos wie z. B. die Bar mit den schönen weissen Rattansitze und blauen Kissen am Strand gibt es gar nicht. Kein SPA. Keine Massagen. Pool ist zum Schwimmen nicht geeignet weil nur 1.20 Meter tief. Das ganze Areal ist veraltet. Die holzigen Gehwege sind alle sehr kaputt (Verletzungsgefahr). Hotel ist renovierungsbedürftig. Unser Superior Zimmer Nr. 231 war alt, der Boten war schräg und man hatte das gefühl umzukippen. Die Bettwäsche und die Badetücher waren verrissen und wurden nicht ausgewechselt. (Siehe Bild). Geputzt wurde nur oberflächlich. Duscharmatur verrostet. Keine Lüftung im Bad (Schimmelverdacht). Klimaanlage alt und laut. Preisleistung stimmt überhaupt nicht.
