Hotel Virgilio

2 minuti a piedi dal centro di tropea.. 10 minuti a piedi dalla stazione del treno con calma.. la camera ha un bagno con la vasca da bagno.. aria condizionata... frigo... una scrivania.. armadio... due mobiletti e telefono e wifi gratuito... sotto c'è il ristorante con colazione abbondanti... puoi prendere tutto e quanto vuoi...brioches.. succo... caffè cioccolato The cappuccino..acqua..fette biscottate... crema cioccolata e marmellata... cereali di 3 tipi.. pane con salame e formaggio... puoi scegliere tutto quello che vuoi e quanto vuoi... tutti prodotti di marca perugina Buitoni Nestlé... ristorante con antipasti... primi e secondi e frutti. Ottime porzioni sopratutto dei primi... sotto c'è anche servizio bar e terrazzino con dondolo e sedie.. personale cordiale.

Frühstück ist schrecklich

The hotel is very tired and needs up dating. The bathrooms especially and the lighting in the room was awful. It was all very dated and between the mattress and the pillow it was like sleeping on a concrete slab. Also our room was right opposite the cleaners store room which in turn disturbed our sleep as they start early and were noisy.Best thing about the hotel was the location. This hotel could be fabulous with a complete refurbishment.

Average hotel. Staff were friendly but their English was not that good. Rooms were very dated, felt relatively clean and size was ok. Good location right near the centre of town. Make sure you use the garage offered by the hotel, our car was stolen off the street which caused all sorts for dramas!

Hotel close to main stre and within walking distance of beach and all things of interest. Old hotel although very clean and well looked after. Decent breakfast included

Rooms need total refurbishment, very basic, no sense of luxury. Handy location for town centre

The Hotel was not in a bad location on the website it misleads you by saying private beach though there was no private beach and they were charging you to have a shuttle to the beach. The people there were very difficult to work with i had several problems that they didnt even think about fixing and the rooms were small and outdated. The bathroom was cleaned improperly and i would not even shower there. I went to a friends hotel to shower. I would never ever again stay in this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone.

Only stayed one night but enjoyed the stay. Room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was good - lots to choose from - and staff very helpful. Wifi was only available at reception but off street parking made up for that. Easy walking distance to restaurants etc

The Virgilio is a nice average small town hotel. The elevator begins one floor up from the lobby so persons with mobility problems may have a problem. The desk clerk did not speak english, but I had no problems checking in with a copy of my reservation. I had a room with a single bed. It was very neat and clean, but very small and the bed was thin but firm. The room had a small TV, desk, refrigerator and air conditioning. The bathrooms was very clean and the plumbing all worked fine with plenty of hot water. I was only there one night otherwise I woulld have felt the room was a bit spartan. I had been sailing with some friends and they also needed rooms for the night but had not made any reservations. They were able to get two double bed rooms. They were also satisfied with their rooms and the hotel. The hotel had a bar area and a restaurant that served breakfast with the room. I did not use the restaurant or bar, but my friends thought the breakfast was acceptable. WiFi was advertized at the desk, but I could not get it to work, but there was a PC with internet available in the lobby. The hotel is conveniently located five blocks from the train station, two blocks from the town square, and walking 6 blocks will access most of the oldtown area, resaurants, and beaches. Althought the beaches are 150 meters below the town, down a very long stairway or an expensive taxi ride. It is not a fancy resort style hotel, and I would not spend more that two or three nights there, but it I was very satisfied.

Good, friendly and helpful staff who did not speak such good English. We have had a nice stay We Can thinking come back next year.
