Excellent value! Clean and well-managed!

...very friendly and helpful staff. ...excellent restaurant/bar/convenience store immediately across the road. ...convenient access from the freeway/Interstate 35. ...clean, but worn in most ways ...room with only bare necessities--no phone, no coffee maker, etc. ...no styro or cardboard cups for heating liquids in micro. An initial concern was that the address is listed as Finlayson, MN, which resulted in us not staying on Hwy 35 and getting off track--about a 20-30 minute detour/delay. If the directions had indicated Junction Hwy 35 and State 23 we would have driven right to it.

The staff was helpful and the breakfast was good. However, I could smell marijuana in the parking lot and in my room. That gave me the feeling that this may or may not be a safe place.

The rooms & property needs upgrades but it was a place to sleep & quiet.

Property was ok a little dated. Location was pretty much isolated. There were some venues across the street that seemed to serve the purpose for hotel guests.

We booked our room while on the road so it was chosen out of proximity to interstate. The initial room we were offered was really warm and when we opened the bed, soiled (not just stained) sheets were in one of the two beds. We contacted the front desk and we were switched into a different room, but it was overall kind of gross. The towels were very thin and stained with yellow discolorations (not soiled but just stained in this case). No conditioner in the bathroom. The whole place was in sad shape. It was fine - a place to rest your head for the night and we appreciated the room switch but how can you leave crusty sheets on a bed unless something is off? The price was cheap, but for 15-25 more a night, I am guessing the upgrade would be substantial. We will not likely be going back unless something changes, or if it were much much cheaper and we were desperate to not sleep in the car.

The room was basic with a small tv you had to manually use the power button for. It had a working fridge but no coffee maker. There was a microwave but I didn’t use it. It had dead flys in the window & when walking past the main floors rooms, some had broken windows & looked disheveled. It was a bit overpriced for what you get, but it was close to a state park, having a gas station with food options right across the street. All in all, it saved me a long drive back to the cities after an all day hike.
