Pakachi Beach Resort & Hotel

We, a couple around 30, really enjoyed our stay in Pakachi. The owner Steve is warm and helpful. He organized all our local trips in such a relaxed way while keeping the costs to a fair level. We had the beachfront banda which is just stunning. You need some time to realize that this place is actually existing in reality and you are part of it for some time. The small hotel area is very private and well maintained. There is no luxury in the usual way like air conditioning, spa, different restaurant etc. The luxury of this place is the privacy, the beautiful surroundings, the campfire at the beach with just a few other guests... you get the impression that you are staying with friends, not in a commercial hotel. If you are used to a 5 star standard Pakachi is not the right place for you, but if you are looking for an affordable stay at one of the top spots of Zanzibar, which is down to earth and not crowded then this is your spot. There are some service issues in the restaurant which are basically due to a language barrier. Our orders were mixed up a couple of times but still the food was always great. Personally, we would definitely recommend Pakachi and are already thinking about a "next time".

Resort sulla spiaggia, ideale per trascorrere un soggiorno rilassante. Nei bungalow troviamo l'essenziale. Girando l'isola sono sempre più soddisfatto della scela su Jambiani dove non si viene fermati ogni dieci metri da qualcuno che vuole vendere o elemosinare come al nord. La cucina mi ha stupito, si mangia molto bene e questo è un'altro punto a favore. Posizione buona e prezzi decisamente ragionevoli. un grazie al proprietario Steve e sua miglie Angela sempre con il sorriso e dispnibili ad ogni evenienza!!

This place exceeded my expectations for the price I was paying for it.. The owner Steve and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Steve helped us arrange our activities for cheap prices.. The only thing I didn't like was the salty water.. However, Steve explained why he uses mix water from a well and the ocean. The other hotels use a lot of the tap water that is supposed to feed the nearby village which causes a shortage in the village.. He also provided free bottled water for us to use when brushing our teeth! Overall, I recommend this hotel

Accueil très chaleureux, personnel souriant. Établissement propre et bien situé. Le gérant est anglais et très arrangeant pour trouver les excursions, transports en taxi avec de bons prix. Situe en bord de mer avec une très belle plage. Nous avons passe un très agréable séjour!

Cheap and nasty. The facilities are substandard. Bad timing really...the place was in a state of disrepair.

I was the only guest at the resort and since there is nothing to do besides laying on the beach it gets boring quickly. Fortunately I only stayed one night but my overall impression of the place is not impressive. The manager does what he can to welcome you but still the bungalows are mediocre at best, the bath room of very low standard and the complimentary breakfast is poor and disorganized. Also the level of English among the staff at the resort is very poor which will create a lot of confusion. Not recommending this place at all, better check in at Paje or Jambiani if you want a good experience.

Ok hotel, der dog i den grad mangler at kunne tilbyde kunden AC. Vi flyttede efter 2 af 5 dage grundet manglende AC.

Pakachi beach er en vidunderlig lille oase for rejsende, som sætter pris på det enkle, det afslappede og på at vågne op til lyden af det Indiske Ocean. Bed om at få et af husene, som ligger lige i strandkanten - elegante små hytter bygget af lokale materialer. Servicen er høj, maden udmærket, pool bordet vind og skævt, men hey, det er den slags der giver stedet karakter!
