The Oliver Inn

Very welcoming house owners, great breakfast, lovely rooms historic house in historic area

We stayed 2 nights at the Oliver Inn and enjoyed a superior B&B experience. Our room was spotless and our bed was comfortable. The breakfast was beautifully served and perfectly cooked. Alice and Tom, the owners, are charming hosts and know how to create a relaxing environment. When we left, it felt like we were leaving good friends. You will LOVE this place.

Oliver Inn is a fabulous, historic home, in a perfect location to enjoy the nearby museums, historic landmarks and local eateries. The owners and caretakers of this fine B and B are most gracious and accommodating to your every need. Breakfast was spectacular and the grounds are perfect for relaxing and sipping on a beverage. Highly recommend!

I didn’t spend a lot of time in the Inn, I had several activities that consumed my time. While there the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and the bathroom was clean and modernized with of the era pieces. The owners were knowledgeable about the Oliver family and the home that is now the inn. Plenty of parking.

We felt so welcome from the time we arrived. The room was spacious and had great view to the outside. The bed was comfortable and chocolates on the pillow was a nice touch. The floor was creaky when walking at night, and the shower water pressure was low but definitely good enough. The breakfasts were wonderful and served at our convenience. Really enjoyable stay!

This was the best overnight we’ve had in a long time. The service and food were excellent. It was a step into the past whilst enjoying all of today’s comforting amenities.

We have stayed here many times and will continue to do so, always very nice.

The Oliver Inn exceeded by expectations. The condition, historical interest, and amenities provided by Oliver Inn demonstrate the love and care that the owners offer. The Inn is a destination in itself.

Beautiful home with lovely owners -only place I would stay in South Bend eve dreyfus Md

The Oliver Inn is beautiful, and the proprietors are very helpful, nice people. Breakfast was delicious, and seating at only two large (formal) tables encourages guests to meet each other and interact (fun) but does not require, if you especially want privacy (I suppose you could choose to sit at the far end of the other table from where people are already sitting). The Inn is very close to downtown South Bend, which has restaurants and the convention center, and is certainly much more interesting than staying in a regular business hotel, even if you are in South Bend on business. The downtown area may not be filled with attractions, but it is unlikely to be far from whatever draws you to South Bend. And if you are just coming to relax, the room at the Oliver Inn (and the downstairs parlor / sitting room) are great places for relaxing. Beautiful jetted soaker tub was a great feature, even if we chose not to use the jets at night because we weren't sure whether they would make too much noise for other guests.
