the staff were very helpful, the breakfast was good and bed was comfortable.

the room was tired and disappointing, (burn marks on the carpet, damaged toilet seat, taps loose from the sink, mirror light not working in bathroom, no tumbler for tooth brush, (I did ask for one at reception, but it didn't come), very few power sockets for charging, only a thin quilt cover, no extra blanket was provided., heating was a cheep electric radiator.

The bed is very uncomfortable slept badly woke aching there where body hair on the couch

Lovely spacious room, great ensuite with lovely shower. Lovely view from the window. Nice and quiet location. The staff were very welcoming and obliging. Lovely comfortable bed. Great restaurant with a good selection of food on the menu.

We attended The Jacobean Hotel bar in Coventry for an event celebrating Coventry’s promotion, which had been promoted by the venue itself. On arrival, the bar was quiet, and our group was appropriately dressed. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. A member of our group, a 70-year-old man with a disability, was told he could not wear his hat inside. When we politely asked whether an alternative form of headwear would be acceptable due to his condition, this was refused without any consideration or attempt to make reasonable adjustments. There was no clear signage regarding this rule, which made the situation confusing. The matter was handled in a confrontational way, and he was spoken to in a raised tone, which caused embarrassment in a public setting. A comment was also made comparing him to a “20-year-old lad,” which felt dismissive and inappropriate given the circumstances. Not all disabilities are visible, and we felt the situation was handled with a lack of understanding and sensitivity. We are able to provide medical evidence if required, but customers should not have to justify themselves in order to be treated with dignity. Overall, this was an upsetting experience and not what we expected from a venue open to the public, particularly one promoting community events.
