Wonderful room overlooking the park, then upgraded when I wanted to stay longer to an even better room. Friendly helpful staff & beautiful food. Wonderful period ambience of an Edwardian Club . Thankyou.

Zentral gelegen und wunderbare militärische Tradition

Hinter der Badezimmer Tür hätte es etwas sauberer sein können. Die Dame an der Bar war mit Getränke wünschen etwas überfordert

Läget i stan är perfekt. Älskar stans norra delar. Mycket skön säng. Stort rum med fin gammaldags inredning. Tyst trots att rummet låg mot gatan. Trevlig personal.

Litet handfat. Säkerhetsskåpet fungerade inte.

Väldigt fin frukost. Väldigt bra städning. Tillmötesgående personal. Lugnt läge i centrala New Town.

Ej ett socialt boende som det kan vara på country side hotel i England där man umgås i loungen framför brasan. Eller under frukosten. Många är affärsresenärer.

Full of character

The staff were very friendly, and the room was very spacious and nice. Even though we stayed in the lower ground floor, the room was bright and silent - didn’t notice any noise from the street nor the other guests. The bed was quite big and comfortable, even though we found the pillows a bit too high. The Club kept a very traditional look and feel, which we thought was very nice. Common areas were also pleasant. The location was good, close enough to the old town, about 10 min walk to Princes Street (where you can get the trams or buses).

The only downside is that we had to go up a quite steep hill to go from the hotel to Princes Street and an even bigger one to get to the old town - meaning it’s not as central as some other hotels. But Edinburgh is all ups and downs so be prepared for a good exercise - and it was great value and location for the price, compared to other overpriced options a bit more central. The full breakfast (£15) was good (à la carte) but the continental (£10.5) meant that we were limited to the buffet, and there wasn’t a big variety to choose from. It was good enough for us though, as we weren’t very hungry in the morning.

The reception staff were excellent and the location is perfect for exploring Edinburgh. Breakfast was delicious.

We hosted a two day conference here, and were impressed with the staff, facilities and the food. We would recommend this as a venue.
