Fountain Court Apartments - Harris

Nice large apartment, was good for my 4 nights there. Close to Edinburgh castle princes street, Waverly train station, as well as tour meet up areas. Clean apartment with lots of natural light. Extremely slow Internet, first two days there, took a half hour just to look up two addresses on google maps, sped up to average speed on last two days. Free Internet at least. Shower curtain too short and way too far into bathtub, very very little room for showering without the curtain wanting to stick to you, also not sure why but in all of the UK hotels I stayed, disgusting smelling towels, kinda like dill pickles, made them seem dirty. Could feel springs in the bed, and no a/c, idk how I missed that, I can't stand not having a/c, makes it so hard to sleep in the heat, lucky it wasn't over 22 while I was there. Lots of noise from main carrigeway beside hotel, I don't mind, use to it from all the cities I lived in, but some might.

I decided to stay in a serviced apartment for the first time ever and it turned out to be a correct decision. The flat was small but very comfortable. All necessary equipments were present in the flat and it was being cleaned on a daily basis. The location of fountain court apartments is also good since it is only a 1 mile walk from the city centre.

The frying pan in the kitchen is not usable, the top layer is gone, it just too disgusting, they should be throw away.

Staff were ok, room was fine although a little warm and decor tired.

Decided to stay here instead of a business hotel as I need accommodation for a week and I didn't want to lock my self in a room - and I was NOT disappointed.

It is a very spacious hotel. I stayed in a two bedroom apartment. Stayed there for almost a week for a conference; only minutes from EICC, which was a great plus for us. also quite close to castle - you can walk for 20 min and you will be at Grassmarket. It is a huge advantage to have a kitchen considering the high price for restaurant food in Edinburgh (and probably UK in general) - Tesco express and Sainsbury local is nearby (Tesco is less than 5 min away on foot; Sainsbury about 10). I also shopped for food from M&S on Princes st. Instant coffee, tea bags and little packaged milk are provided. appliance in kitchen includes washer/dryer, dishwasher (although the one at our room was broken - did not have much dishes so did not care much), small refrigerator, induction stove, toaster and electric kettle. You should go through a locked gate using a passcode to get to the building entrance - ask for the code when you check in (We had to visit the reception, which is 2 min walk in a separate building, to get the code at our first night). Overall nice bang for the buck, with convenient location.

Had a fantastic stay at these apartments, really like the idea of ipod docking station playing in all rooms, very modern and spacious. ideal location for access to princess street/rose street. Tesco express at the end of the road for food/drink. 24 hour bakery at end of the road, amazing!wasnt too happy about 3pm check in as we wanted to arrive earlier and go out for the day, so we arrived at 10am and wouldnt let us check in until 3. and also its £25 to check out later the next day to 2pm.. bit expensive, also £10to park the car was a bit expensive.

It was beyond our expectation, as we never expected such a clean and superbly equipped apartment

Comfortable apartments. We walk from check-in/car park facility with cases but manageable as long as you don't have too much luggage!

I found the whole experience--I was there for a week--very enjoyable and will return later. Large rooms, all mod cons and very comfy. Staff were great.
