The Lodge by Cefn Tilla

The bar and restaurant were tidy. I had a snack, which was good. I did not have breakfast, 9.00 is too late if working. 7.30 would be better.

The location suited where we needed to be close to, there's a lovley cafe downstairs that served breakfast through to dinner. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and well maintained

Thr bed was incredibly uncomfortable with it only being a very thin mattress.

Although there were no staff on duty, the instructions to find the key card and room were good.

There being no staff on duty, the front door remained open all night. Although I appeared to be the only guest, there were no instructions regarding closing the front door

We were looking for something out of the way to just relax for the night away from home. The road was a little more main than I realized (as evidenced by the very loud motorcycles that pulled in at 9am), but overall it was a good fit. The suite had a lovely view. It’s a shame it rained, it’s would have been lovely to sit out on the terrace. The checking in and out were very easy (almost too easy - if I had been alone, I would have been a bit unnerved by the fact that it’s completely unmanned and not all that secure, but it does say that in the description).

Unfortunately they were having wifi issues, but that’s not why we were there so it didn’t affect us terribly. The floors/ceilings/walls are a bit thin and/or old - the couple above us had a rather prolonged and aggressive row in the wee hours of the morning shortly after arriving, and we heard eeeeverything (if by some of chance those people read this - please get counseling). I don’t fault the hotel for this at all, but once things quieted down (one of the parties left), I found I could hear each normal footstep and pronounced snoring (which means it’s likely they would have heard my and my boyfriends snoring from below).

The property is completely unresponsive. Doesn't answer any questions. Even ignores booking.com when they tried contacting them.
