River Beach Resort & Residences

Wonderful hotel located right on the river and walking distance from the beach. The manager Ana and her team where very friendly, attentive and professional. The hotel is set along the river with a big swimming pool and nicely manicured gardens. The breakfast buffet had a lot of options and you could sit outside which made for a nice experience, with a view of the river.

My only complaint (and this is in general since it happens everywhere in Asia), is that smoking is allowed on the balconies at hotels. And at this hotel, the balconies aren't private, since they dont have walls in between, and both guests on the other two balconies next to me smoked all the time, especially early in the morning when I wanted to sit on the balcony and enjoy a morning coffee. I literally got smoked out and as I can not tolerate cigarette smoke, I wasn't able to really enjoy the balcony in the mornings with my coffee or even in the afternoons or anytime the other guests where there chain smoking and making it impossible to breath any fresh air on the balcony. My only option was to go down by the river where there was a table and chairs where I could sit away from any cigarette smoke, and hope no one would come down to that area to smoke. The only other issue I had was that there is a morning market located a couple doors down from the hotel, and starting at 4:30 am some of the stands start chopping meats, and its very loud since its a large butcher knife on a wood cutting board. The hotel was very helpful in moving my room, but then I ended up staying next to the chain smoking guests, so in the end my stay wasn't as pleasant as it could have been, but if you dont stay in any of the rooms close to the morning market and dont mind breathing in cigarette smoke or having it go into your room, this hotel is a great option aside from those two issues I personally had.

The staff are all brilliant, very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them and they go the extra mile to make your stay a brilliant one. Good size and well equipped rooms, we had a rver view room where you can watch the comings and goings of the boats, plus the birdlife. About one minute to the nearest beach with restaurants and sunbeds, or you can use the beds and pool at the hotel, there is also a bar for cocktails etc. The grounds are very well kept, with lovely flowers and planting. Breakfast is excellent, lots of hot food, fruit, salad, cereals and toast/buns, all are replenished regularly. There is a free shuttle bus to Hoi an 5 times a day, or you can use the free bike hire to explore the surrounding areas. Shops and restaurants all very close by, but the nearest ATM is about 2km away, (may change soon). We stayed for 1 month and had a fantastic time, definitely return next year.

Stayed here as solo female traveler/digital nomad for 20 days in February 2025. Good location - walking distance to the beach (200m), 4km to town, in a quiet bend of the river, with numerous restaurants, grocery stores, and spas nearby. Good infrastructure - approx. 20mx10m pool, mature garden (compliments to the gardener!), TV with international channels, good wifi (but unsecured). Excellent soft services - ample Western/Asian breakfast buffet (with fresh fruit juice, homemade yogurt, and live cooking station), free shuttle bus to town and back (approx. 9am, 10am, 1pm, 3pm, 4pm), good value massages (cheaper than in nearby spas), excellent bottle of red wine in the room (very reasonably priced compared to nearby restaurants!). And last but not least - EXCELLENT staff, with special thanks to Lily the receptionist, Superman :-), Poni the bartender, the lovely kitchen people, the drivers..... Everybody was so helpful and friendly. Thank you so much! I will be back!

I personally didn't like the wide sitting ledge around the pool (about 10 cm underwater), because it takes up approx. 1/3rd of the available swimming area. But that's my personal opinion - maybe other people will like it :-)

Nice hotel with lovely garden. Friendly staff. Opt for the Riverside-view-rooms. Great view and so peaceful, with the small fishing boats passing by. Good buffet breakfast with lots of Western and Asian food to choose from. (Although the appearance of the restaurants is not appealing) They have sunbeds (free) on the beach at restaurant number 5.

The beach and the appearance of the restaurants/bars there was disappointing. All was neglected and rather dirty with lots of rubbish. The River beach Resort had a lovely pool but only 13 sunbeds, which is way too little.

We stayed at the River Beach Resort for a month and it is such a great relaxing place, beautiful views over the river, next to the beach and 5 star service from all the staff. Anna and her team (Lilly, Tien & reception guy) made us so welcome. Greeted us every day and always helping whenever needed. The breakfast team Tony, Van Ella and the egg guys really looked after us every morning. The breakfast selection was so good and fresh and the fresh coffee was so tasty. This hotel is like no other in Vietnam!
