Bodrium Hotel & Spa - Special Class

I didn't receive any VIP treatment or Upgrade. Breakfast was very poor.

Its a beautiful hotel. Very kind, respectful staff, very clean, calm and peaceful. I have stayed in many hotels, but Bodrium has a really great value.

Location, 6 rooms in a block surrounding the pool being much better than conventional hotel building with large number of rooms either side of a long corridor.

It’s a quiet and clean oasis in the sun. Great mix of Turkish and international guests. Very decent and polite guests. The Hotel itself is very pretty with a Roman/ Greek theme and with beautiful well kept plants and greenery all around which make it feel private and homely. It was lovely to see birds and dragonflies flying around the pool. Plenty of sun beds around the pool. The pool was a perfect temperature. Pool is not huge but it’s clean and well designed. Our suite was a great size. Bathroom was well stocked. Hotel had a great spa and gym area with steam and sauna rooms. It’s a short 20 min walk to the Marina and very close to some lovely local Turkish restaurants. Staff were really friendly. We totally switched off for the 10 days that we were here.

Language was a bit of a problem. If the hotel wants to attract an international crowd then staff need to speak or understand much better English. Only a handful did. The staff were really great but unfortunately I didn’t speak Turkish. The rooms and the food and bar are a bit on the expensive side given it’s a medium size hotel not a big 5 star. Maybe it’s just local inflation. Cleaning was ok but a bit hit and miss. We only wanted the room cleaned twice and on one time the sheets weren’t changed and coffee wasn’t topped up. Minor but worth raising!

What a lovely hotel, so location might not be in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of Bodrum but that makes this such a tranquil place and it is a 20-25 minute walk to the marina. The pool area is so lovely, at this time of year in early June, there are ample sunbeds, which are lovey, by the way. The breakfast is a buffet but excellent. The attached restaurant is an Italian, mainly pizza and pasta, but very good with white linen table clothes and excellent service and should be busier considering the quality. The rooms are nice but could be a little bigger bathroom and storage. You do get a pillow choice which is a godsend for me. Cleaning is excellent all over the hotel, staff seem all to be genuinely invested in the service the do and give. There is a lovely bar area which do the best cocktails I have had in Bodrum, though let them know you want a drink as you could be waiting a while sometimes. Overall I think at £106 per night this hotel offers great value and a little bit of civilised luxury in a what can a vibrant holiday town. Highly recommended.

Most of the staff didn't speak English.The water in the bathroom had a very unpleasant smell
