Very pleasant stay

Stayed at the Barns Hotel because it was convenient for an event we attended at Wrest Park. Would go back simply because it was really lovely. Nice staff, nice room, excellent breakfast. The only thing I would say is that whilst the room rate was very reasonable, the cost of the breakfast was quite high.

Great location for my daughters wedding. Everything was there and the stuff couldn’t be more helpful.

Excellent stay did not have breakfast though, not too far from Bedford centre in a taxi. Good staff and location close to the river

Never expected Bedford to be as pretty as this! Lovely and relaxing to sit by the river enjoying a drink. Just wa5ch out for the wasps!

Hotel staff excwllent. Very helpful and friendly. Food is tasty. Dedinitely worth a return visit.

Hotel was nice, clean and quiet, staff were friendly and polite. The location made it easy to find and it was far enough away from busy roads that traffic noise was not a problem. The room was larger than a lot of similarly priced hotels, with two chairs to use for sitting and relaxing and another at the desk area. Bed was clean and comfortable, pillows were the usual for a hotel - far too thin and non-supportive, but I expect that these days. There are two Tesla charge points near reception for those lucky enough to have one, no use for my BMW i3 sadly. The local town centre is a few miles away so a car will be needed to get there.

This surroundings/restaurant are GREAT! The weather was hot, so when we arrived in the room at check in, the window was open. After our night out, we came back to our room (Room 38) shortly before 1am and tried to close the window... to our despair, the window would not close. The lights were on and therefore the room started to fill with flying insects. We called reception and 2 members of staff attempted to close the window, but were unable to and no other room was available for us to move to... in addition to this, they had no fly/insect spray/repellent. The members of staff left the room nearing 2am and the window was still open. We both had an early start the following morning, so as you can imagine we were not impressed. There were bugs flying around everywhere. In addition to this, upon leaving, I had left an expensive USB multicharger plugged into the wall by mistake. On my initial telephone call, I was advised that an e-mail would be sent to Housekeeping, however when I called back the following day, the e-mail from Reception had not been sent. Although I called the hotel the day after and 4 times over the course of the week, my USB multicharger “could not be found”. Again, I was not happy with this as I had to be charging my phone/iPad in the car, rather than being able to charge it at home/office. I couldn’t understand as to why they couldn’t locate it, as I advised them exactly where I’d left it plugged in, so all I can presume was that housekeeping stole it.

I would never stay there again I requested 3 times to speak to manager no one ever did my room was a joke I didn't sleep at all I had a early meeting next morning had to leave at 6.30am . Customer service was none existent to my disappointment no sleep or reaction to do something over a ant infestation in the room I didn't sleep at all thinking of ants crawling all over you in the night.
