The pool was lovely. The room was large and very nice. Pretty view. The tours they arranged for us were extremely fun and worthwhile.

This is a great location for someone venturing into Guatemala for the day. We were in Cabin 8 which was perfect for our family. Properties closer to reception look newer. Ask for a low number. The pool is nice after a hot day. There is not a lot of staff so expect to have to look for help at reception and breakfast. Ask if your breakfast is included in your stay. The breakfast is expensive for what is included. There is a grocery store less than 1/2 mile into town.

We booked on Expedia based on local friends recommendations. Unfortunately we didn’t realize until after our 2 night stay was over that there are two parts to this resort. The part that our friends recommended which are new modern gorgeous villas And the old cabin section. We stayed in cabins that were not very clean, very old, smelled bad, uncomfortable beds and the duvets on bed had spots and were not clean. Being our first visit and from Canada we did not want to complain and did our best to have a good time. It was disappointing on the morning of checkout to take a different path and come across these new beautiful villas we could have stayed in. When I asked why they had not been offered as an option even after we requested a fridge which we thought we were getting based on our Expedia booking, we were told it was our own fault we didn’t ask. How can you ask for something you don’t know is an available? The staff was very professional and the property and pool lovely. My point is not to complain as much as to advise others to book the villas unless you love old rustic buildings and enjoy camping. 😬
