The pool was out of order for our entire trip. This was the main reason we booked this property. We received multiple explanations for why the pool was not able to be opened. Eventually, someone told us that they were waiting for the water samples to come back and be approved. Then we were told that this had been going on for more than a week, which is pretty illogical in the month of July for a family friendly hotel, and no discounts or offers were made. We had a lot of smaller issues as well, such as the coffee machine in our room didn’t work and I had to text the front desk multiple times to ask maintenance to come and replace it. There was no fan in the bathroom, and the hot water took 15 or so minutes to get hot. The TV in the main area of the room kept cutting out when my husband tried to watch it. The carpet was fairly stained throughout our room. While normally a few of these things would not bother me, and I would not bother to write a review mentioning them, the number of “small” issues that we experienced did detract from our stay as a whole.

It was a 2nd visit. Great room and hot tub! Nice shower also. Had a little trouble with the cable connection to the TV, but that was mostly repaired the first night. 2nd night it started again, but I wiggled the cord and it was okay again. Might need to replace that cord or connection. Thanks!

The Hilton Garden South Bend is an amazing location with the nicest staff around. The pool and the exercize room are such a nice addition. The breakfast may seem a bit expensive, but you get a lot! Be sure to go to the bar and eat at the Bistro. The food at the Bistro is some of the best in South Bend! We will be back.
