Seafront Hotel Kangaroo Island

Excellent seafront location, friendly girl at the reception who helped with dining options, fantastic location, clean and large room, only drawback is no lift to upper floor for people with heavy luggage.

Getting a little tired but still acceptable

I was accommodated as regards my mobility issues which I advised prior to arrival (ground floor room provided as requested), but even this involved several steps. The room was large and comfortable. Provision of crockery and cutlery was appreciated. The view from the beach-facing rooms is excellent. Parking is conveniently close to the hotel.

TV is oddly located, and not fully visible from the bed. The bottled water provided was at a charge of $3 a 500ml bottle (the tap water has a strong chemical taste even after boiling), and the price of the mini-bar items was excessive - 5 star hotel prices. Whoever bought the electric kettle didn't check it fitted under the bathroom sink faucet (it doesn't). Pillows were uncomfortable. Access to the Seafront upstairs rooms is only via a very narrow and steep staircase, which would make moving luggage very difficult. The on-site dining 'Kiosk' is open for breakfast only, and the 'buffet' is very limited for the price.

Proximity to the ferry and amenities.

Disappointing to stay in a place with seafront in the title and literally overlooking the sea, only to have a view of the stairwell. Grotty room with stains on the floor, walls and sofa and curtains that didn’t fit the windows. Strange layout with the TV in a different area to the bed and garish lighting.
