We turned up late in the afternoon on a rainy Monday in August after booking via Expedia an hour or so before. We were met by Sebastian who provided us with complimentary juice cocktails while he was sorting out the booking (it hadn't quite come through). He was very professional and sorted things out quickly. He put us in the 3 bedroom apartment on the top floor and then asked what time we would like to have breakfast. He explained that we were the only ones in the hotel that night therefore we could choose when it suited us to come down for breakfast. He also arranged for us to have dinner in the restaurant that evening. The food for both meals was great. Even our fussy eight year old daughter managed to eat. The restaurant was quite busy but the service was still good and the waitress was very helpful with choices for us all. The spread at breakfast time was both overwhelming and beautiful to look at. Overall we received great service from everyone we met in the hotel and the room was not only spacious but well maintained and very clean. We would definitely stay again if we are ever back that way.

It was very hot and no AC. The hotel is lovely. We had a wonderfully delicious dinner. The staff was very nice. They prepared a breakfast tray to take to the apartment for my daughter. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is part of an old but restored building. The restoration is very well done and mixes modern and the original in a novel way that we find pleasing. We visited for just one night. We checked in and were shown to our room. Being an old building, there is wood everywhere with impressive wooden beams in our room. We also had a kitchen - cooker, fridge, sink etc - had we wanted to cook. But instead after a walk around the local area we decided to eat in the hotel. They have two areas - the main restaurant or the bar. We choose the bar and had two swabian pizzas and desserts. All very good. The hotel is clean, well presented and friendly. We would have no hesitation in returning for further stays.

This hotel was actually a second choice but we are so glad we stayed here. The 1769 restored and converted farmhouse was charming as was our room with lovely bathroom. There are 2 restaurants, one of which was Gourmet where we celebrated a fabulous and elegant News Year's Eve with wonderful food. The staff was warm and accommodating. I recommend this place highly.

What a delightful surprise this hotel/inn near Baiersbronn in the Black Forest was. It is a converted farmhouse dating to 1769. Our spacious room had slanted ceilings and heavy beams and was absolutely charming. The establishment has 2 restaurants; the generous breakfast and a rather simpler menu is served in one, the other being a gourmet restaurant. It was in the latter where we celebrated a fabulous New Year's Eve with wonderful food, champagne and several wines making up the menu. The ambiance was elegant, the service everywhere exquisite, warm and friendly in both German and English. I very highly recommend this place.

Romantisches Hotel, Fernseher sehr klein. Die Umgebung läd zum wandern ein.

We stayed in the large apartment and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The large apartment with three bedrooms, with wooden beams was welcoming, but spacious. The proximity to restaurants, supermarket, bakery, tram station and a multilingual tourist information office, as well as walks and bike tracks was ideal for us. The staff were wonderfully helpful, speaking excellent English and willing to take the time with us to make sure that they had answered every request (including a full translation of the menu). The couple of things that would have made our stay perfect were the availability of some of the hotel literature in English (yes, we know it's a German hotel, but clearly such an effort had been made to inform guests that it was a pity that we couldn't access much of it) and daily emptying of the bins. The bistro was okay, with a fabulous paprika soup, but just not large enough serves. However, breakfast was fantastic, and the hotel staff couldn't do enough to keep our kids happy and full of hot chocolate. The complimentary tram pass is a great way to view the valley, and covers bikes, meaning you can ride down the valley and tram back up. In fairness, we saw a bit of the challenges others referred to (particularly in the restaurant), but for us, the positives far, far outweighed the few challenges.

Amazing, helpful staff. Really impressed with the apartment. More information in English (yes, we know it's a German hotel) and daily emptying of rubbish bin would have made stay perfect. Great location for cycling and walking. Incredible combination of Tourist information (multi-lingual), tram stop, small supermarket, walking trails, restaurants, bakeries and butcher all within short walk and views to the forest from the room

Es gibt kein Empfang. Alles läuft über die Theke. Das Personal ist sehr jung und hat sehr schlechte Umgangsmanieren. Frühstück macht einen schwäbisch sparsamen Eindruck, direkt neben der Theke. Das ganze Hotel ist auf Tagungen und Hochzeit ausgelegt-die anderen Gäste werden lieblos mitbedient. 4 Sterne sind für mich unverständlich-zumal Preis/Leistung viel zu teuer sind-nie wieder.... Bester Mann und Ausnahne ist Kevin, immer Freundlich und Hilfsbereit!!
