Stay Inn Manchester

Staff were very friendly and the evening catering staff went out of their way to make us a basic meal for which we were grateful. Clean bedding. Hair products in the room was a nice touch. Lovely and quiet.

Room/shower room very small. I expected more space for the price. It smelled of stale cigarettes too which wasn't pleasant. Rentokil mouse poison traps under the bed!! Not a great thing to see. No lift. Evening meal options hadn't been changed on the website so we expected some menu options.

This is such a great find just 20 mins walk from Manchester Central. Very affordable, small room but has everything you need. This is is second time I've visited and will choose this spot again next time.

Room had a strange smell. The matress was that hard it caused backache. No lifts in the building so dragging a suitcase up to second floor was a nightmare. Rooms are not soundproof so you heard EVERYTHING the other guests were doing. The bathroom was that small you couldnt stretch your arms in any direction and you cant stand in front of the mirror face on because you keep hitting your elbow off the shower screen. The mirror in the bedroom was that high up only a person who is over 6ft tall can use it, im not exaggerating. The full length mirror was on the back of the door but had no sockets anywhere near it. Might sound petty but if your using hair tongs or straighteners its impossible, same with trying to do your make up. The tv was the size of an ipad and the handtowel was literally a flannel. Also never stayed in a room that used actual keys instead of a card to get in the room. The place is like something from the dark ages.

The room was clean and well supplied. The housekeeping lady was very helpful and friendly if we needed anything. Parking was also good and onsite. Perfectly good sleep with no noise from traffic, despite the room facing a busy road.

We did not require breakfast so cannot comment on that. However, the general availability of food was exceptionally poor, even for a budget hotel. We arrived at 8pm on a Saturday night. They could not even provide a basic sandwich. On Sunday evening we attempted to order dinner, to be told they don't serve dinner on Sundays. We ordered dinner on Monday but we were told we could only order a limited number of items from the broader menu. When said food arrived it was fine but as basic as humanly possible. The hotel didn't even have a vending machine that we could see. All of this was made worse by the absence of any decent restaurant in the area so the hotel could really do with upping their game on food.
