Ka'ana Resort

Great experience

Unfortunately our experience at Ka’Ana did not meet expectations in the slightest. First thing I noticed in our Casita Suite was a gaping hole in the patio door (which they did end up fixing). The patio had no loungers, hammock or other place to sit as depicted in the photos I had reviewed. Below there was a tub, but it was very dirty upon arrival with leaves and ants (and was never cleaned) so we didn’t use it. Below, next to the tub there was one filthy, dirty chair. The outside area is mostly dirt and the stones that lead from the outdoor shower to the stairs up to our room were also dirty so we didn’t use the outdoor shower as our feet would have been dirty. We were immediately told they would provide coffee at first, but any refills would be at our cost. The included breakfast includes only a few items that aren’t sufficient to prepare for a day of activities. This cheapened the whole experience and certainly didn’t feel “luxury”. We went to the pool and immediately noticed there were no towels. My husband notified staff, but they never arrived during the time we spent there. The pool shower was literally covered in leaves and was never cleaned during our stay. The food was mediocre and very expensive for what it was. There are very few kids options. We ate out a lot and it was really good and inexpensive in town. The wine list is expensive and not good. The wines by the glass were undrinkable and extremely expensive. Cocktails were tiny, weak and sweet. You’d get a different glass every time and they seemed to get smaller and smaller, never filled to the top. We only did this during happy hour because of this. At one point we went to the front desk to ask for a taxi to town. They all looked at me like I had 3 heads and said their only taxi was already reserved. We finally worked it out and got the name of a local driver to deal with our own transportation the remainder of the trip. Their excursions are double what we paid using a rental car and going on our own. Lastly, it was our 10 year anniversary. We noted this on the intake forms where they asked if we were celebrating anything, yet they never did anything special for us, let alone mention it. The staff is 10 out of 10. Kind, helpful and did all they could. We heard from two separate locals that management has changed and the place has gone downhill. Wish I had known that before we booked here to celebrate this milestone.

Tranquil peaceful luxury are 3 words to describe Ka’ana Resort. Great accommodating staff who remember your name and always greet you with genuine care. Completely enjoyed my stay, the room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone visiting San Ignacio Belize.

We had a great stay at this beautiful Resort. It was a great location to do both the ATM tour and Xunantunich. The service was outstanding and they went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their garden is lovely and the food options were great, the Tamales were our favorite. If you’re looking for a relaxing resort with great bird watching this is the one. Ooo and Ismael was great at the restaurant !

Ka’ana was an amazing experience! The people were beyond warm and welcoming. A few honorable mentions were Ethan, Brandon, Eddy, the bartender and wait staff at the restaurant. The room was clean, AC was VERY cool, and room service was respectful. The food at the resort was so amazing. It was all sourced from their local garden (which you can visit). 10/10 would highly recommend!

I stayed at the balam room, although there was nothing “luxury” in this room. The service and protectiveness of the staff was great. The balam room is basic maybe even needing renovation soon, but it was clean, stocked, sheets and towels crisp. They do have a turn down service with a cold water restock and treats at bedside which was great. The amenities are well kept, grounds clean and plenty of birds and iguanas to see on site. Food was good too.

The service at Ka'ana is top-notch. Everyone was helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and serene. I thoroughly enjoyed eating at the restaurant and chilling by the pool. Spa service is excellent, and I highly recommend that guests try it. Overall, I would stay here again and recommend anyone traveling to San Ignacio to come here.

Hotel room was nice. Grounds and amenities were clean, well maintained and peaceful. And the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Ka’ana was the perfect start to our trip—beautiful grounds, exceptional service, and some of the best meals we had in Belize. We met Chef Cesar while walking the organic garden and after our conversation he said he’d have something special for us for dinner that night. What an incredible experience! Arturo, Victor, Ismail, Ethan, and the rest of the staff made us feel welcome and celebrated from the moment we arrived.

Second time staying at Ka'ana. We loved it again. The road noise has increased some. I hope with The improvements being done that more trees and bushes are planted along the side of the property adjoining the road. Maybe they will also add some more water features lessen the road noise. We love feeling as if you're in the jungle and big truck noise certainly was different hearing it this time. Still had a great time. A wonderful pool to be enjoyed by all.
