Hampton Inn Watertown

The location was central to everything we needed +/ or wanted including being close enough to the Summit Nursing Home where my husband’s brother lives which makes the visits with him quite convenient The location is also very close to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds where we usually come up from Maine to visit the family while they participate in all of the farm related activities We hope to make reservations here for that visit since it has the ground floor rooms available for easy access in and out for my disabled husband and our 2 Boston terriers

Not being allowed to leave our 2 Boston terriers by themselves (even being kept in their crate) alone in the room while we were out for the short visits with family +/ or going out for dinner, etc… is quite inconvenient I do understand the reasoning behind this rule (although I think it should be on a conditional basis) Our 2 Boston terriers are usually well behaved and do not bark or whine when we leave them alone in their crate (unless they hear strange sounds or someone knocking on the door to our room) we make sure to buffer that situation by leaving the TV on to minimize any disturbances I find it to be a difficult situation of what to do with the pets in the meantime… Leaving them alone in a vehicle is really not a safe solution for durations of activities where they are not allowed to go So in my opinion the hotel is not really as dog/pet friendly as you might think especially if this is one of the criteria you are looking for in a hotel where you want to make a reservation for your future stays There is one thing that I neglected to look into which is to have asked the staff if there is a dog/pet sitting service available either through the hotel or some outside service that they might be able to recommend I will be looking into that before we make our next reservation and wether or not we find a service that does this we will most likely make our reservation with the Hampton Inn because of all the other convenient and over the top amenities that are offered… All pluses in my opinion 👍🏻🤗🤩👏🏻

Little special touches. We were given bottles of water upon checking in the lobby bathroom there was amenities you possibly needed like pads , qtips, band aids.

Excellent hotel. Must dine at Petes Trattoria. A five minute drive away on Breen Street.

Room and hotel was clean. The morning desk clerk was rude as I had asked how I could receive my points from a previous stay at Hampton Inn just a few nights before. He informed me in a condescending tone that I was not eligible for points since I did not book directly thru Hampton. So my next stop I booked a Choice Hotel for 2 nights. Comfort Inn and Suites. I have to say it was a better all around experience and equal quality and price as a hamton Inn.
