"Disappointing room and casino."

6.0

I guess when there is no competition, you can do what you want and not worry about customer service. When I made my reservation, I requested high floor, not close to elevator. So when I arrived at the check in counter, the agent acknowledged it and said, not to worry, I saw your request. So I felt good. However, you can imagine my shock when our room was directly next to the elevator! When I went to complain they told me there are no other rooms available (King or Queen). Which we all know is BS. At the tables, the payouts are not as good in AC or LV. Some are significantly smaller. When I ordered a drink I was told I needed a players card to get premium on the house, and I could only get the house brands, which is fine. Then the pit boss said no to that. So unless I went and got a players card, I could not get a complimentary drink. I’ve been going to AC and LV for almost 40 years and never saw this before. Eventually I would have got a card, but I don’t like being told to do so. So I took my money and that was that. Had a stack of 100s to play with but I guess they did not care. No competition. Can’t go outside to the casino next door. Also, they do not allow you to bring your own alcohol in. I am not talking on the floor or public areas, I mean in your room. We had a cooler with sandwiches, fruit, etc and some guy came running up to us and started checking our cooler like we were in high school and put a green tag on it. Very classless. The only bright spot were the restaurants. The Italian Restaurant, Pino’s, was fantastic. I had Veal Marsala and my wife had some kind of pizza with burrata cheese, arugula, figs and prosciutto. It may have been the best pizza we ever had (and we live in NYC). And the waiter, Joshua was great. The next night we went to Wildflower, another great spot. This is fine dining. I had lamb tenderloin which was like the best filet Mignon you can imagine (cooked perfectly rare). My wife had duck breast. But stay away from Peach Blossom. Very mediocre at best. But the first two were great. So unless you don’t mind an unresponsive front desk, or a weak casino, I’d recommend staying at one of the beautiful surrounding towns on lakes and maybe coming to the casino for a meal or two. I will not be returning.

This hotel is beautiful. The dining options are many and the pool and gym are excellent. When we checked in the front desk gave us ear plugs because of construction going on. Luckily it didn’t bother our sleep at all! Every employee we interacted with was lovely!
