Hotel Shelfort

Big rooms, clean, helpful staff. Breakfast was minimal leaves some to be desired, but is far from a deal breaker.

As the title says the hotel was basic but fine for a weekend in St. petes. Central on Vasilevsky and easy to get around.

The hotel is very charming and well located. The staff was extremely friendly and made me feel at home. They went out of their way to make sure I had internet access and anything I needed. I felt like a part of the family. I really enjoyed my stay and the friendly and professional attitude of everyone. It was a great experience that I would definitely recommend and stay there again if I go back to St. Petersburg.

The hotel is within easy reach of the metro and some cafes and bars. A walk down the road takes you to the river with good views across to the Winter Palace and other attractions. The rooms in the hotel were quiet and seemed very good to me, but please do bring a plug for the wash basin. It look a little time for the hot water to come through to the shower but it was fine after that. Breakfast was fine. The receptionists were generally quite helpful. The outside of the building was a bit drab.

Отель небольшой, но в этом состоит одно из его достоинств: тихо, уютно, вежливый персонал. Завтрак сытный и разнообразный, никто не мешает. В номере убираются каждый день, полотенца меняют по требованию, поэтому все чисто и аккуратно. В дополнение к батареям отопления в номере имеется обогреватель, который работает от сети. Его можно включить в любой момент, если станет прохладно (нас это очень выручило). Еще из полезного и удобного - Wi-Fi и хороший современный телевизор. Местоположение тоже отличное: отель в 5 минутах от метро, недалеко и самые красивые места Васильевского острова, и даже Дворцовая площадь (до нее 25 - 30 минут прогулочным шагом по живописным местам). В целом все, что отель обещает на своем сайте, мы получили, к тому же по приемлемой и справедливой цене. Хочется вернуться туда снова!

Очень отзывчивый персонал, просторный чистый номер, есть бесплатный wi-fi. В качестве минусов могу только отметить отсутствие регулировки степени проветривания (или закрыто, или полностью открыто) и довольно скудный завтрак.

Das Hotel ist für russische Mittelklasse durchaus OK. Zimmer und Bad sind geräumig und i.w. sauber. Die Lage ist hervorragend. Problem 1: Wir hatten ein Zimmer für 3 Personen gebucht, fanden aber nur zwei Betten vor. Das freundliche, aber ziemlich hilflose Mädchen am Empfang brachte uns eine Behelfsliege, auf der kein Erwachsener auch nur eine Nacht verbringen wollte. Man würde die Chefin informieren. Die schien für dieses Problem aber keine Zeit zu haben. Am nächsten Tag und einer neuerlichen Reklamation erhielten wir wenigstens eine dünne Matratze zusätzlich, so dass ein drittes Lager auf dem Fußboden eingerichtet werden konnte. So blieb es bis zur Abreise nach 8 Nächten. Die Chefin war angeblich inzwischen unerreichbar. Problem 2: Das Wasser in der Dusche lief nicht ab. Mit einem Messer vom Frühstückstisch ließen sich der Abfluss öffnen und die Haare vieler Vorgänger gründlich entfernen. Einer schnellen Lösung statt weiterer vergeblicher Reklamationen wurde hier der Vorzug gegeben.

A bit off the beaten-path, but loved this little hotel. Desk-clerks knew English very well and were helpful. To get downtown on the metro "go out the front door, turn left, go to the end of the block, turn left, walk two blocks to the Metro Station." And, since that's the Metro's last/first stop, you CAN'T go the wrong way to get to the city center. One stop and get off. To get to the Palace Square or St. Isaac's Cathedral, "go out the front door, turn right and keep walking until you get to the river--cross one of the two bridges to get to the sites." I like a cold room, and its was a bit loud with the window open, but there was a fan in the room. Love sleeping with a fan!

The Shelfort hotel is a hidden gem for those who bring their walking shoes to St. Petersburg. Just a 20 minute walk from the Hermitage, the Shelfort is an oasis of calm in the midst of this busy city. Our room was clean and comfortable, the mattress firm and inviting. The breakfast, though fair, provided what we needed to start our engines for another day of sightseeing. I would recommend this hotel, and its english-speaking local staff, for anyone planning to visit this amazing city.

einfaches Hotel mit gutem Wohlfühlfaktor, sehr bemühter Reception aber unterdurchschnittliche Frühstücksqualität und -auswahl. Die Betreuung des Büfets ließ ebenso zu wünschen übrig. Strategische Lage ist gut.
