Mulroy Woods Hotel

Hotel was perfect base for exploring Fanad. Lovely room and apart from hearing a fan in another room, it was very quiet during the night. Lovely staff- at reception and at breakfast. (Didn’t meet bar staff as we went out for the evening) Delicious breakfast. Will definitely return.

Nice hotel, good location for exploring Donegal

Hotel was overrun with girls and their mothers vying for places in a ballet competition. They took up all the passageway leading to the accommodation wing and also cluttered the area adjacent to the restaurant. It was difficult to move luggage through this impasse and they left a mess of drink containers when they finally left. The first room assigned to us was unacceptable. We booked as a family of 4 adults, not 2 adults plus 2 children. This was resolved by reception but should not have occurred in the first instance. Service in the restaurant was poor - we waited for 25 minutes after requesting our check, then when again ignored we went to the bar to pay it. Overnight a loud party took place until after 2am, accompanied by distressing screams. Breakfast the next morning was also chaotic- a tour group devoured most available food, running the lone waitress ragged demanding items be delivered. It was a blessing when they left, filling their bags as they departed.

We were enjoy some of the country. This hotel was close to the area we needed to be in. So glad we booked here. Very friendly staff and the food was excellent. Even when we goofed on the time the staff accommodated us without hesitation. Well done.

This was a really nice hotel with a good sized room that was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Great place to stay in a convenient location. I would definitely recommend it if you are any place near the area.

We stayed here for 3 nights and didn’t want to leave. Staff are wonderful and friendly. Food in the restaurant “Harpers” was great as was our breakfast. I highly recommend the Mulroy Woods Hotel.

The hotel itself was beautiful, the room we got was a large ground floor room, unfortunatly it was cold when we arrived, took a while for it to heat up. The shower water was freezing and would not heat up at all no matter what i tried. We ate in the restaurant at the hotel. The staff were all over the place, kept forgetting about us. Noone came to take our order for atleast 15minutes until i called a girl over. The food took almost 45minutes to then arrive at the table. The food itself was beautiful and we could not fault that but the service let it down a bagfull. Overall im not sure if i would stay there again.
