Waters Edge Apartment

Nice place approximately 15-20 min walk from the center. Our 3-bed apartment overlooking the ocean was great in virtually every aspect. Would be hard to write anything negative.

The units were well appointed and very comfortable. Very close to the main walkway and ocean front. easy walking distance to the centre of Cairns city and an excellent bus service with a stop almost in front of the units. The staff were most helpful and an outing was organised for you and the taxi service was a 5 minute wait. Most certainly going back in the near future.

Water's Edge was a fantastic way to end our 3 city tour of Australia. The apartment building was undergoing some work, but we were not bothered by it at all. This apartments are located directly across the street from the water, not directly on the water. Views are somewhat blocked by the trees from the second floor but it is still peaceful. This apartment is a bit removed from the main part of the Esplanade, so it requires a bit of extra walking, but that's what helps it to remain peaceful, so we didn't mind. There is a grocer a few blocks away as well as a pharmacy along with tons of other shops. The rooms were mostly clean although it was obvious that the bed skirts were not cleaned. The cleaning people come daily but they really only replace towels and make the beds. Having a full apartment as oppose to a hotel room was awesome. There's a full kitchen and living room and HUGE furnished porch. Also, having a washer and dryer in unit was a big bonus. The pool looked so refreshing, though I didn't get to use it. The apartment is a good distance from the airport, so expect to pay around $30 for the shuttle as the apartment does not have airport transportation. The on-site staff is incredibly nice and super helpful. They booked us a tour and had many options available to choose from. Wifi was also an extra fee, but they were so sweet hearing how difficult it was for us to connect with family back home that they offered it to us for free. All in all a great place to stay. I would definitely return.

We cannot fault our stay in Cairns. We had no car for the duration of our stay but this was not a problem. Everything is within walking distance. Taxi from the airport was $20. We will be back.

We stayed almost 4 weeks. No complaints throughout our stay. Craig and Tanya very helpful and obliging. Ideal situation near end of Esplanade but town centre within easy walking distance. Much quieter location than town centre. Higher apartments give wonderful views of sea, marina and vessels entering and leaving Cairns, including cruise liners. Lower apartments with direct access into swimming pools probably better for younger children in particular. We have been to many parts of the world and we enjoyed Cairns and our accommodation more than anywhere else we have been. We do not go back to the same place twice but are seriously considering a return trip to Cairns and Waters Edge Apartments. The only downside is the number and length of flights from Northern Scotland.

Cairns is a tropical paradise with the Water's Edge right on the Esplanade. The Staff was always willing to work out our problems ... fob for overhead parking had to be changed out while stuck in the garage ... door key to our room had to be changed out ... tons of small non flying insects around the bedroom night stand ... unable to hook up to the internet via my laptop. Most importantly, I was disappointed that there wasn't any beach to swim at (during the day, the beach front looks like a vast barren mud flat ... something the locales don't include in their literature. Would I stay in Cairns again do to the beach situation? Probably not.
